General overview

Our sweet log-cabin style home offers all the charm you need, with all the amenities and space you want. We face an alpine golf course that sits on the edge of a lovely little lake. Take a stroll past the golf course and along the lake and past the damn, and you'll find yourself in downtown Evergreen. A historic turn-of-the-century goldmine town. All of this within a short walk! It is truly the BEST location in town! Every season offers endless options for outdoor enjoyment. Enjoy all the beauty of Colorado! We're a little over an hour drive from several major ski resorts including, Keystone, A-basin, Winter Park, Vail, and more. In town we have a small ski resort with a few runs and tubing, called Echo Mountain. Denver is a quick and easy 35 minute drive. It's only 60 minutes from Boulder, and 90 minutes from Colorado Springs. It's truly very centrally located for many surrounding destinations. But the locals will vouch that Evergreen itself is a wonderful town to hangout in as well!

The space

Just inside the front porch is the foyer, with slate tile, plenty of coat hooks for hanging gear, and a bench for removing snowy boots. This opens up to a large family room, complete with a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling, a giant stone woodburning fireplace, and a comfy new sectional. I have numerous streaming services and a brand-new giant TV. Beyond the family room is a fully stocked kitchen and den with french doors facing the fenced backyard. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The first bedroom has a full bed and is part of the original cabin, so it's the smallest. All bedrooms have an attached bath. The other two bedrooms are very large with views of the backyard. The one downstairs has a king bed and massive bench seat. There are french doors that open up to the deck and backyard. The adjacent bath features a jetted jacuzzi tub and river-rock stone surround. The upstairs bedroom is also very spacious, has it's own bathroom and french doors to a deck overlooking the property. The backyard has a wrap-around deck, with a flagstone patio in the center. There are two outdoor tables with chairs/benches for eating al-fresco during the warmer months. The yard is fully fenced, however a few areas the fencing is not very tall so a larger dog could potential jump over and escape if they were determined to. Just one look at the map and you'll see we're surrounded by lots of open space and parks. These are mountain parks, which means they are just undeveloped forested areas with numerous maintained trails. Walk out the door an go in any direction and you'll find yourself somewhere cool! Evergreen Lake is a 5 minute walk out our door. During winter, it becomes the largest outdoor ice skating rink in the world groomed by a Zamboni! You can rent ice skates at the lakehouse, or watch the pro ice hockey team practice on the ice from time to time! While there's no swimming allowed, there's lots of opportunity for fun during the summer months as well. Take a stroll on the path around the lake, and stop for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate at Java Groove or EverBean Cafe. They also rent stand-up paddleboards and other watercraft for a small fee. Next to the lakehouse is a large grassy park where they hold a free summer concert series with food vendors. Stroll down with a blanket and a couple of chairs and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and free entertainment. Spend a day in Denver exploring the museums, restaurants and um, other city stuff with city things! Either way, you're sure to have a wonderful time!

Guest access

The road and driveway are both pretty flat and accessible year round. The porch to the front door has a flagstone walkway to it and a few steps up to the main level. There is one bedroom and bathroom on that floor, then two steps down to a second bedroom and bath, along with the laundry room and a mudroom. There is a carpeted flight of stairs up to the third bedroom and bathroom upstairs. It is a little narrow but not too steep, just average. Some people with limited mobility might find that there are a few trip hazards, but nothing too bad. Unfortunately, probably not very wheelchair accessible.

Notes

Let me know if you have any questions! I apologize for the terrible photos. I will post some new ones with it furnished and show all the rooms and spaces better soon!

Neighbourhood

This is a quiet family friendly and empty nester neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly and nice. We all wave at each other everytime we pass, whether walking or driving! If you want to seem like a local wave at passerbys while driving through the neighborhood. Everyone in cars waves hello to each other. We love it!

Getting to my home

It's an easy 45-60 drive from Denver International Airport. There are a lot of very secluded and way out in the mountains places around here, even within Evergreen proper, but this is not that. We are right in the cute little downtown area of Evergreen, and it's very easy to get to.

Kelly

Hello! We are a family of 3, sometimes 4 and are excited to share our cozy home in the mountains! I am a recently single mom of 3 wonderful kids. My kids are 13, 15 & 22. My oldest son is off at college in Washington, and I have the two younger kids half-time. Sometimes I will be traveling with them and other times it might just be me! I am an interior designer by trade and currently work with a high-end custom cabinet company based out of BC, Canada. I am excited to begin exchanging!
