General overview

A very private little hideaway overlooking Salema Beach.

The space

The Salema Beach Studio is a special space. 125m from stunning Salema beach with beautiful views from the apartment and of course from the terrace. Yet it is secluded, private and quiet. The terrace nearly doubles the square meters of the apartment. It is livable space and not just a balcony. Inside is a super king bed (can be 2 singles) and separate seating area. Have coffee on the sofa in the mornings, watching the sea. There is an aircon unit (heating and cooling), and a heat wafer in the bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area for up to four. There is a huge, walk-in storage space in addition to the small wardrobe. It is in a small and quiet four-unit condo building, mostly owner occupied, and with private gated parking. There is one flight of wide and gently sloping steps to reach the studio.

Notes

I love living here because right outside my door I can go paddle, boarding, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. This is an outdoor sports enthusiasts paradise. In the village there are about 13 restaurants, 2 or 3 low-key quiet bars, 2 small supermarkets, a weekly market, the fish monger passes through, a pharmacy and bus stop. Nightlife is twenty minutes away in Lagos.

Neighbourhood

Praia do Salema is the last village on the Southern coast of Portugal before the end of the Iberian peninsula. The whole area is part of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano and Costa Vicentina and is an outdoor lovers paradise. The village retains its charm and is far removed from the mass tourism of the Algarve coast, with its fishing traditions, narrow streets and whitewashed houses. Hiking West from Salema the coast is the most beautiful in Portugal and right outside of our door.

Getting to my home

1 hour 10 min from Faro Airport, 2 hours 50 minutes from Lisbon Airport.

Getting around

Public transportation is available in the village. But it's nice to have a car to really explore.

Nancy

Frequent solo traveler, occasionally with friends, offering Salema beach Portugal. Mostly retired US citizen and Portugal resident living in Portugal for 4 years in a small fishing village in the country. Prefer European city breaks but open. US, Canada, Australia, Asia not currently on my list. Can travel on short notice. Planning UK in August and would love to add Edinburgh for the Fringe festival. Amsterdam in the spring?
