General overview

A cozy and spacious cabin located in a forest with warm mountain decor. This cabin has 3 bedrooms, full bath with tub and another bath with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare your own meals, but the cabin is also close to a variety of restaurants. You can enjoy relaxing with a huge selection of movies, Netflix and Disney+. Light the wood burning stove and get cozy! For entertainment, pick from playing pool, Wii, Atari, WiFi access, outdoor movie projector or from lots of board games. Please note that there is no cable TV and pets are not allowed.

The space

The main living space is downstairs with the TV room, pool table room, kitchen, laundry room, the bunk bed/futon room and 2nd bedroom with queen bed. The upstairs has a king size bed, half bath and trundle bed with TV. There is also one pack-n-play. The front and back yard is large with a BBQ and sitting areas in both locations. The hot tub is in the backyard next to the cigar room. The backyard is entirely fenced.

Guest access

There are 2 levels with stairs.

Notes

Parking is available in the driveway for 3 cars. All of the comforts of a home are included such as towels (bath and spa towels), comfortable bedding with fresh linens, plenty of blankets and even toys for the kids. The back deck includes an 8-person hot tub, lots of outdoor seating, BBQ and a cigar room. The front porch has another BBQ and is a great spot to play in the snow. We do ask for no smoking inside the cabin (use the cigar room). This is normally a vacation rental so dates are flexible given that this is not our primary home, but usually fully booked in winter.

Neighbourhood

Within walking distance is Big Bear Snow Play for tubing in the winter and Go Karts in the summer. The Convention Center which is like a large barn, offers evening entertainment, the well-known Oktoberfest and delicious food and drinks. The rest of Big Bear is accessible within a 10 minute drive. There is so much to explore such as the village, golf course, Alpine zoo, Discovery Center, hikes, mountain biking, Bear Mountain, Snow Mountain and of course all of the lake amenities. Getting to the lake in the summertime is a must-do! You can enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, waterskiing and much more. Don't think of Big Bear for winter activities only because summer offers a cool break from summer heat with hiking, biking and lots of adventures.

Rachel

We like to do easy getaways in Southern California. Once a year we'll do a big trip or go someplace overseas. We always like an adventure to new places. My husband is a Captain for San Diego Fire Department and I'm mostly a stay-at-home mom. We can travel midweek due to my husband's schedule, but that does depend on when the kids are out of school.
