General overview
We love our 4-year-old home in St Pete, and hope you will too! This fabulous small FL city is the perfect combination of arts, music, food, entertainment and water access.
Our home is a light-filled oasis in a quiet area, just minutes on foot from all the action.
As we embark on frequent travels we're looking forward to sharing our home and our city with other PLU'ers!
The space
This recently built home includes 2 bedrooms (queen beds in each with awesome mattresses), 2 full baths and an open floor plan. The large kitchen and living area create a lovely space for cooking, socializing or just relaxing.
Front and back patios include sofas and chairs for outdoor relaxation. There's a bird feeder in the front yard and the gaggle of local avian friends would appreciate it if you would continue feeding them while we are away.
The front room is affectionately known as the bourbon room and includes a custom Turkish lamp for setting the mood. Please note - the bourbon cabinet is off limits, sorry.
There is a tenant in the garage apartment behind the house (the garage is detached and separated from the backyard by a privacy fence). You may see the tenant infrequently.
Guest access
The home is all one level, built on a slab like most homes in FL. We will leave a key lock box for access, and share the code prior to your arrival.
Notes
***Please note: We don't own pets but we sometimes host dogs at our house when we are in town. We'll have the home professionally cleaned before you arrive but can't guarantee there won't be a few stray dog hairs.
Trash pickup is twice weekly on Tues/Fri, there are large bins in the alley behind the house. You can comingle trash and recycling in the same bins.

Palmetto Park is a quiet, friendly neighborhood adjacent to the vibrant Grand Central District. There are dozens of food, music and arts venues within walking distance.
Downtown St Pete and the beaches are easily accessed by car or by using public transit. The waterfront downtown includes the St Pete Pier (a must-see), museums, restaurants, and plenty of sun. The sun shines here on average 361 days per year.
Getting to my home
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is 30 minutes away, and Uber/Lyft are great options for getting to St Pete if you do not have a vehicle.

Our area is highly walkable for dining, music and arts. Grocery stores and pharmacies are a short drive or bus ride away. The SunRunner rapid bus service serves downtown and the beaches and is a 10-min walk from our house. There are also plentiful rental corrals nearby for renting bikes, e-bikes and scooters.

Andy and Danice’s well appointed and beautiful home is situated in the City of St Petersburg and walkable to numerous restaurants, pubs and shops on and around Central Ave. The neighborhood is undergoing an almost complete rejuvenation and has a very welcoming vibe. The downtown area, museums, The Pier and Vinoy Park are just a short Uber away. Many great beaches can be reached in about 20 minutes. Our favorites are Fort Desoto, St Pete Beach and sunsets at Passe Grill. There are many options for groceries and shopping on 19 where you’ll probably find any thing you might need or want. A well supplied kitchen made it a pleasure to prepare meals. Tasteful decor, fun art and a comfort first approach make this home a delight. The home is new construction and has gorgeous concrete floors. We got to try out the LoveSac sectional that we had considered for our own home and we found it to be durable, stylish and comfortable. As hosts Andy and Danice were so generous and accommodating. We had come to Florida with plans to stay in 3 locations. Our accommodations were paid for vacation rentals booked months in advance. Three days before we were due to check into our month long booking in Tarpon Springs it was cancelled by the host. I reached out to PLU and Andy and Danice came to our rescue, saved our trip and made it an unforgettable experience of kindness and sharing. As hosts they certainly embrace the spirit of PLU.
