General overview
Our home is in one of the best locations in New Orleans! It sits on a beautiful street in a funky neighborhood. BIkeable to the French Quarter (10 minutes on Bike) and 1 block from the Blue Bikes stop. Half a block from 'Bar Brine,' where you can have a delicious cocktail. Wake up and drink coffee on our lovely porch.
Our home is one of the oldest in the neighborhood. It has Central Air/Heating and is two floors. It has 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double) and 2 small living rooms (one we use as a more of a playroom for our 4 year old). In one of the living rooms is a single couch bed.
Outside is a pretty large backyard (for Nola standards) and a small guesthouse. The guesthouse is a modern studio with a small bathroom. It has a queen sized couch bed.
Our house is for the adventurous - this is by no means suburban living. Most of our time in Nola is spent outdoors and attending events outside the house. It is an old, funky house and things aren't perfect (our walls need redone, our water pressure is low, our kitchen can be colder).
I share this to be up front that this is a wonderful place for those interested in the 'Nola' experience!
The space
The home itself is a duplex. One side of the home is rented full time to a quiet tenant.
Our side of the home is a 2 floor, 2 bedroom + 2 living rooms and kitchen, 2 bath home with a backyard and studio guesthouse.
In total, the place can sleep at least 8 people comfortably. 1 King Bed, 1 Double Bed, 1 single, 1 queen couch bed. We also have a queen air mattress available.
The house is an old, New Orleans style house. The first floor is a shortgun style floor with wood floors and tile in the Kitchen/Bathroom.
The second floor is a loft style and the two bedrooms upstairs are connected. There is also a small open loft space.
We have a 4 year old and have toys in the house.
The guesthouse outside is about 200 square feet and is a studio with a bathroom.
Note: New Orleans has a lot of charm, our house included. One area of our house that is difficult is our water pressure is low, especially in the small guesthouse.
