Quiet, private, light and bright, whole house with large deck and 180-degree views of the Knik Arm of Cook Inlet. Mountain views of Denali, Mt. Spur, Sleeping Lady, and the Talkeetna Range. Cooks will love the convection oven, 5 burner gas cooktop, gas grill, cast iron cookware, Instapot, Kitchen Aid Mixer, and well stocked kitchen. We are also renting this out as a short-term rental on Airbnb while we are traveling this summer.

Neighbourhood
There are 7 major trailheads with trails into the Chugach Mountains within 30 minutes of our house, including one trailhead that you can walk to from our house. If you come in winter, there is great free, lighted, XC skiing at the Beach Lake trails, which are groomed a few times a week. Eklutna Lake is a 30-minute drive, a beautiful, glacial fed lake where you can hike, rent kayaks, or rent bikes. Local outfitters offer helicopter adventure tours or ATV tours to the Knik Glacier, which is the closest glacier to our house (about 30-minute drive to start a trip there). Drive high into a beautiful alpine area at Hatcher Pass, home to a cool historical park, small ski area, groomed XC trails and several trailheads. You can swim at the Chugiak High School pool for $5 (check schedule), 5 minute drive. We are 30 minutes from Arctic Valley Ski Area (small, volunteer run), and 75 minutes from Alyeska resort where you can ride the tram both in summer and winter. Hike up and ride down for free! The Alyeska Nordic Spa is well worth a visit as well. If you want to see a glacier up close and walk on the ice, check out the Matanuska Glacier, a 90-minute drive from our house.
Getting to my home
We are 27 miles from Anchorage International Airport. There is no public transportation to our area. You will need a vehicle to get from the airport and to get to shopping and for getting around Alaska. We can potentially make our Subaru available, if you provide your own insurance.
