General overview
Spacious NYC studio apartment just blocks from the waterfront and merely one subway stop away from Manhattan! Located in one of the best and safest neighbourhoods in all of New York City, you will be right in the mix with some of the most postcard-worthy views and sights. The apartment is over 1200 sq ft with a shared rooftop with views of the Manhattan skyline.
Note, I am currently out of the country until mid-January but more photos to come soon!
The space
The space is over 1200 sq ft with 12ft ceilings and great natural light from the street. The bed sleeps 2 and is closest to the windows on the left hand side (pictured). The kitchen space is vast and great for entertaining equipped with all of the cooking essentials you'll need as well as a blender, coffee, and espresso machine. I have a projector that spans across one of my living room walls turning the space into your own personal movie theatre (great after a long day of walking). The shared laundry is located in the basement with ample washers and dryers (I can leave quarters for you to use while you enjoy your stay).
Guest access
My apartment is on the 2nd floor of a 6-floor elevator building. It is incredibly safe with doormen and code secured entries.

Neighbourhood
DUMBO is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in all of NYC and is known for its cobblestone streets, Manhattan skyline views, and dining. I have a long list of recommendations you must check out during your visit in the area and throughout Manhattan, including walking over the Brooklyn Bridge which begins just down the road from me!
The Brooklyn Flea market is a short block and a half away and is open on Saturday's and Sunday's under the iconic Manhattan Bridge.
In less than 4 blocks you will find yourself at Time Out Market (which houses DUMBO House rooftop for any SoHo House members). The historic St. Ann's Warehouse theatre is just across the street. Time Out boasts two dozen of some of New York's favourite food and drinks spots. Cecconi's (in Time Out Market), Celestine, and the River Cafe (Michelin starred up until 2023) are musts for dinner on the water with Manhattan views.
Getting to my home
JFK and LGA are generally equal distance with a 1h subway ride or between a 30 and 1h15 drive (dependent upon traffic). I prefer to fly in/out of LGA and JFK but you can also fly to EWR, the train or subway ride just take a bit longer.
Nearest airport
JFK and LGA = 1h subway or 30min - 1h30min* drive
EWR = 1h20 subway or 45 - 1h30min* drive
* Ask me about your arrival and departure times for a more accurate drive estimate accounting for traffic
Getting around
The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the F train and 10 minutes to the AC train (both are the last Brooklyn stops before entering Manhattan). The pedestrian entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge is approx. 10 minutes away and many choose to walk, bike, or run over the bridge for the iconic views of the city, both during the day and at night with the lights. The water in DUMBO is 2 blocks from my apartment and boasts a beautiful path along the East River for walking, running, and sightseeing.
I have been living in NYC for 5 years and would love to welcome you to my neck of the woods! I am in my late 20s working in law down on Wall St (only one subway stop away). Originally from Canada, I grew up spending several months per year on home exchanges (pre-'The Holiday' movie ) throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. My family continues to swap their home in Canada at least once annually and now I look forward to doing the same with my apartment in NYC.
My travel dates are generally flexible and I am open to exploring any and all parts of the world including those not listed in my preferred destinations so please shoot me a message if you are interested in my home! I love to travel and will mostly be looking to travel with 2, although may be interested in homes for larger groups during the holidays (December/January 1.5 to 3 weeks) for my family to join me. I look forward to connecting with you :)
