Neighbourhood
We live in a peaceful residential area, very close to the beautiful St. Lawrence River. The village of Cap-Santé is about 1.5 km away. From here you can access the river and the beach.
The main asset of our house is its location. First of all, the village of Cap-Santé is charming with its historic buildings and its Vieux Chemin (one of the "most beautiful streets in Canada"), lined with heritage houses. It is in the village that you can access the Cap-Santé wharf, the river and the beach (depending on the tide).
Our region, Portneuf, offers incredible opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts (cycling, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, etc.). As mentioned, you will be able to benefit from our two electrically assisted bikes.
Then there's the fabulous city of Quebec, with its renowned restaurants, numerous festivals, outdoor shows, unique carnival, and historic district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can be there in 30 to 45 minutes.
In addition, the house is less than a 3-hour drive from Montreal and the beautiful regions of Mauricie, Lanaudière, Lotbinière, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Charlevoix, among others.
We are open to the idea of lending our car, on terms to be discussed.

Getting Around
All the shops necessary for the supply (grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, hardware stores, restaurants, etc.) are located in the nearby town, Donnacona, 4 km away. It is preferable to have a car, but it is possible to go by bike and you will have our two electrically assisted bikes.

We are two happy and curious retirees who love walking, cycling, cooking, beautiful scenery and terraces 😊. Before I retired, I (Sylvie) was a linguistic writer and editor, while Pierre worked in the field of water treatment.
We dream of going elsewhere, discovering new environments and meeting the humans who live there. We have a preference for the countryside and small towns.
We had a very successful exchange in August 2024, on another platform (see our review in the photos).
We leave at home an 11-year-old cat, Gaston, rather shy, but very affectionate (see photo)!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
