We can offer a lovely apartment (completely renovated a few years ago and redecorated this year) in a turn-of-the-century building. It's not luxurious but large and comfortable and with its own charm. The location is perfect for anyone wishing to visit Rome
The space
In the apartment there is:
* living room with a a leather sofa, wide screen TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime available), DVD recorder and many books, DVDs and CDS; in the living room there is also a dining table that can sit 6-8 people.
* fully equipped kitchen with a terrace facing a very nice internal courtyard. The terrace has a table, so when the weather is fine it is possible to have meals outside. The kitchen is provided with dishwasher and has a small dining area (2-4 people) .
*. master bedroom with queen-size bed and cabinets.
*. guest bedroom with a sofa bed that easily converts in a double bed (this is our grandchildren's room, so it's full of toys and other kids' stuff, but it may be arranged in order to have a more adult look) .
*. studio with desks, two computers (24 hours ADSL connection. Wifi) and more books (many English ones among them) . This room has a small balcony full of flowers facing the street.
* main bathroom with shower and a laundry area with washing machine.
* half bathroom (wash basin, WC, bidet) .
Central heating. No air conditioning. Ceiling fans in every room. High ceilings. Marble floors.
Guest access
2nd floor. No elevator.
Notes
In the apartment our guests will find our big "exchange book", with information on the apartment and the neighborhhod, and many guide books and maps.
We require our guests to water our plants, but it's a few minutes job (unfortunately we don't have a garden but only a very small balcony and a back terrace)

Neighbourhood
What are you looking for in Rome? Art, history, museums, food, shopping?
Whatever you are looking for, it's here!
The apartment is located in the center of Rome, five minutes walking from the Vatican and in an excellent position to reach the historical center on foot, by bus or subway. It is located on the border of "Borgo Pio", the medieval area surrounding the Vatican, partially destroyed by Mussolini. This is now a popular area, with a lot of little shops and pubs.
Near the house there are stores to buy everything you can need, a food market, an important shopping area and many restaurants and pizzerias.
If you don't feel like walking, public transport is very good: buses are everywhere and there are two subway stations. Traffic, however, is bad (as almost everywhere in Rome! ) .
Getting around
No problem. Everything is close and public transport (if you don't feel like walking) is very good

We have always exchanged homes and this has allowed us to take trips that otherwise we would never have been able to afford. And to experience the countries visited in a much more "real" way.
We love the United States and New York in particular, but of course we don't disdain Europe or trips to Italy.
Whenever possible we prefer to travel out of season, to save on flights and find less crowds.
"One or two weeks in the Fall. Simultaneous or non simuktaneous"
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
