General Overview
Our house is set in a tranquil location with a wonderful panoramic view of the Hochkönig massif. We offer 2 self catering apartments, a perfect base for all year around alpine adventure, from skiing, snowshoeing or langlaufen in winter to hiking, mountain biking or swimming in summer. Gorges, waterfalls, castles, lakes and beautiful towns are located within a easy drive from our house: Salzburg, Eisreisenwelt, the Hohenwerfen Castle, Hallstatt, Großglockner Hochalpenstraße and Berchtesgaden with Kehlsteinhaus (The Eagle's Nest) and Königssee, just to name a few.

The Space
We can offer a choice of two apartments, depending on availability:
Apartment Hochkönig is our largest apartment with 58 sqm. It consists of a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with 2 single beds. The living/dining room has a fully equipped kitchen including oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, filter coffee machine, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The sofa bed offers sleeping flexibility.. The large entrance hall provides ample space for shoes and coats. The private bathroom has a shower, WC, double sink and a bidet. The apartment has a small balcony with mountain views. This apartment can accommodate 4 people (plus 2 extra on the sofa bed if necessary) and is located on the first floor. Please note that there is a stepped access into the living room and onto the hall area leading to the bathroom.
Apartment Hagengebirge is a 50 sqm apartment with 2 bedrooms with large double beds (180cm). Both bedrooms have access to the large balcony with wonderful views of the Hochkönig. The spacious dining /seating area has a fully equipped kitchen including oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, filter coffee machine, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and refrigerator. A sofa bed is present in the room for sleeping flexibility. The bathroom has a shower, sink and WC. This apartment can accommodate 4 people (plus 2 on the sofa bed if necessary)and is located on the 2nd floor.
Please note that in case of a non-reciprocal exchange a fee of €50 will be requested for cleaning and maintenance.
We are obliged by Austrian authorities to register all our guests and charge the City Tax fee of €3,15 per person per night. This applies to all guests from the age of 15.
Guest Access
All the accommodation is located on the upper floors accessible by stairs only. Apartment Hochkönig has a stepped access into the living room and onto the hall area leading to the bathroom.

The apartments are carpet free, pet free and non-smoking (smoking is only possible outside).
We live on site and are available to offer any help required during your stay.

Neighbourhood
Werfenweng is a family resort located at an altitude of 902m, only 45 km from the Mozart city of Salzburg.
Our house is located in a quiet location about 1 km or 15 min walk from the centre of the village, where restaurants and a small grocery store can be found.
In winter Werfenweng offers a total of 27 km of family-friendly slopes for skiing and snowboarding, 6 km for tobogganing and a freestyle park. Away from the ski slopes, there is cross country skiing and snowshoeing. In summer, the village is a fantastic starting point for alpine hut tours and hiking. The adventure park right in the centre of Werfenweng offers a forest rope course with Flying X area, a 400-metre-long Zipwire, a mountain cart experience for children. Werfenweng is also one of the main centres for paragliding in Austria.

We loved staying with Dorina and Eddy in Werfenweng! They are amazing kind people and were great hosts! They made us feel comfortable straight away! The house is in a beautiful sunny spot with amazing views, and the village centre is a short walk away. We did a couple of days alpine skiing and a couple of days cross country skiing, and loved it! It is also great for sightseeing as Salzburg is a short train journey away!
