Lake Cathie is situated about 4-5 hours easy drive North from Sydney on the coast. Here you have access to beautiful beaches, numerous lakes and a truly amazing hinterland of forest and waterfalls.
Port Macquarie, the "big city" is 20mins away, with yet more pristine beaches... Port Macquarie has a healthy koala population and although koalas are difficult to spot in the wild, there are many sightings in Port Macquarie.
Our home is located approx 400m from the beach and the lake. I love taking a stroll to the beach everyday. It is a great place for either beach fishing or lake fishing. Boating, canoing or SUPing are also very popular activities on the water. My personal favorite is to SUP up Lake Cathie Creek to Perch Hole and observe all the birdlife on the way.
The Lake Cathie lagoon has playground and picnic area with free BBQ. It is perfect for young families with the option to swim in the ocean too.
For practicalities, we have within 100m, a big supermarket, some other speciality shops and also the local Tarvern.
The space
Our home is on one level with rear access into the garden.
We have one main bedroom (queen bed) with ensuite, one second bedroom also queenbed and a third bedroom with two single beds.
The main bathroom is off the corridor between the 2nd and third bedroom.
We have a first living area to the right as you step in with large TV and very comfy corner lounge. This living area leads to the kitchen and also through to the covered patio.
The newly renovated kitchen leads into the dining room and 2nd lounge room with TV and sound system. You can also access the patio from the kitchen.
the covered patio is large and includes a table and in the corner a spa bath for 5 people. The is off the patio and includes a third toilet.
The backyard is sunny most of the day and has a westerly aspect.
Guest access
The front door has one step and the door itself is of standard size.
There is a single gate to the right of the garage with access into the garden and patio. There is also a double gate around the corner with access to the backyard and patio.
Notes
We have a major supermarket within 100m, as well as coffee shops, hairdresser, real estate, laundromat ... and other speciality shops.
The Lake Cathie Tarven is also within 100m and is well worth visiting. It offers specials every day of the week.

To the North is Port Macquarie, a short 20min drive. Port Macquarie is a lovely coastal regional town. It has pristine beaches, my personal favourite being Flyns beach. There is a coastal walk that takes you from the town centre to Tacking point at Lighthouse beach.
To the South is Bonny Hills, Camden Haven, Laurieton, all smaller coastal towns with beautifuly waterways.

We had a wonderful stay at Martha and Eugenes home in Lake Cathie! The house was exactly as described, very well located , great for sightseeing around the area. the bonus was the hot tub in the evenings after a long day out and about ! Also early morning walks ,just one block to the most amazing long beach .
Communication with Martha was excellent , we are looking forward to welcoming Martha and Eugene to our home in Ireland in July .
