General overview

The flat will be renovated this summer and there will be scaffolds and craftsmen just outside the windows. I do not invite to stay here during this time. I have decided not to put dates in the calendar as I am pretty flexible. My son lives at his dad's every second week from friday to friday. These weeks are ofte available. You are welcome in our clean and newly refurbished apartment with plenty of hygge and a Scandinavian interior in a building from 1870. It is situated in the heart of Nørrebro, Central Copenhagen 10 min. walk to The Lakes (Søerne). 5 min walk to HC Andersens graveyard and restaurants, cafees and takeout around the corner. All of Copenhagen is in biking distance and as the bike is the main means of transportation in this city, you are free to use our bikes to visit Christiania, the bathing spots at the harbour, Tivoli or to see the little mermaid. We have a very nice closed backyard were you can enjoy a glass of wine in the sun in summertime or let your children play .

The space

The apartment is on the 3rd floor and thus it has lots of natural light. There is a livingroom with a dining table and couch. A very functional kitchen with washing machine, air dryer, dish washer, stove with induction and a micro wave oven. My bedroom is tiny, but has space for a queen size bed. In Jonathans bedroom there is a single person bed and in the livingroom there is a sleeping couch accomodating two persons . It is possible to sleep five persons, but for a longer stay I would recommend 3 persons.

Guest access

The apartment is on 3rd floor and there is not a lift.

Notes

This is a non-smoking home and pets are not allowed due to allergies.

Neighbourhood

Nørrebro is the most culturally diverse neighbourhood in Copenhagen. Folkets Park (just outside the doorstep) is vibrant with people drinking coffee, hanging out in the sun and children playing in the summertime. Lots of independent shops, cafees and galleries. You can check more here: https://www.visitcopenhagen.com/noerrebro

Getting to my home

If you travel by plane you can take the metro from the airport to Forum Station. From there there is a 12 minutes walk. The trip takes half an hour.

Nearest airport

CPH - 10 km.

Getting around

There are plenty of supermarkets within few minutes walking distance. Easiest transportation is on bike, but busses and metro is very close too. If you wish to visit other parts of Sealand there is a 20 minutes walk to Nørreport Station or you can take the bus 3 minutes away to the train station.

The flat will be renovated this summer and there will be scaffolds and craftsmen just outside the windows. I do not invite to stay here during this time. I am offering my apartment in Central Copenhagen, Nørrebro area two minutes walk to the graveyard of HC Andersen and 10 minutes walk to the medieval city of Copenhagen. It is situated in an area with all you can dream of when it comes to cafees, restaurants and takeout. Our main form of transportation in Copenhagen is on bike. Transportation by car is difficult due to one-way streets and the parking fee is expensive if you are lucky to find a parking spot. We have a Christianiabike you can use (picture will be uploaded) and ordinary bikes as well. In Copenhagen you can experience festivals, flea markets, modern art, Danish design, The Royal Ballet, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, swimming in the harbour, new Nordic cuisine, Tivoli, public parks with amazing playgrounds, the old star observatory (rundetårn - round tower) and the little mermaid. In the summertime life is lived on squares, streets and in the parks. The city is vibrant and very much alive. Prior to the listing on PLU I have had an very positive experience with an exchange in Denmark found via a Danish Facebook group. I find it comforting to have joined a group where we are all exchanging on the same terms. I am looking for places in Europe this summer as I am planning on an interrail with my 11 yo son Jonathan. We are easy going, creative non-smokers, and will take great care of your home. Off course I expect the same from you.
