I live in a small coastal town, Paihia, there are beaches a 5 min walk along the coast to the left and the right, there's great coffee on the doorstep, plenty of restaurants and all the boats out to explore the Bay of Islands leave from the ferry terminal across the road.
The space
The apartment is light and modern, timber floors and kitchen is being renovated at the moment (I will add interior photos soon). The lower level is one large open plan living area & upstairs is a bathroom and two bedrooms. The apartment it is set back from the road, facing an internal courtyard with palmtrees and a small communal pool. You can see the sea from the balcony and bedroom upstairs and the apartment is lovely and private.
Guest access
The apartment is in a secure apartment building complex (accessible with keycard). Living space is on the 1st floor (up one set of private internal stairs) and bedrooms are on level 2 (internal stairs).
There is also a secure underground parking space for those who have a car.

Neighbourhood
Paihia is a lovely small town, you can walk along the waterfront to the supermarket and have a swim on the way. It is a tourist hub so there are plenty of bars and restaurants and many of the tours up to Cape Reinga or boats out into the Bay of Islands leave across the road from the main wharf.
It is a short ferry ride across to Russell (good restaurants, wineries and beaches) and you can walk along the coast to Waitangi to learn about the Maori culture & unique history of the area.
Getting to my home
Paihia is connected via bus to the big city Auckland (international airport) & there's a local airport in Kerikeri for domestic connections.
Nearest airport
Kerikeri (20km)
Getting around
Paihia is a great base for exploring the Bay of Islands & wider Northland

Hi, I'm Sandy, I live in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand & my daughter lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands, so I leap at any chance to travel to Europe I get.
