General overview
** We aren't Premium members currently, but would be happy to join for the right exchange! Go ahead and shoot us a message :) **
Nestled among the massive Pacific Northwest evergreens, we are sure you will love our newly-remodeled three-bedroom two-bathroom home in Port Orchard, Washington as much as we do. After a long day of exploring the Olympic and Kitsap peninsulas or Seattle, we invite you to relax in the hot tub under the stars by night with a cold drink or chat around the fire pit or table.
The space
The primary suite has a comfortable king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with two sinks, a shower, a bathtub, and a skylight. We love the view when we wake up in the morning: a huge sliding glass door with forest views! There is also a guest room with a queen-sized bed, mirror and plenty of storage, and a second full bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
We are perfectly suited for remote workers, since we are remote workers ourselves! The primary office (which doubles as a third bedroom with a full-sized fold down couch) has a top-of-the-line sit-stand desk and a comfortable office chair with a cordless charging port. We have reliable high-speed (90 Mb/s) internet that has never given us an issue during video calls. There is a second moveable work station in the living room with a desk and an office chair, along with a formal dining room that can be used as additional workspace.
We love to cook, and love our kitchen! The kitchen has great new appliances (oven, microwave, range, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer), and brand-new quartz countertops. We have seating for two at the breakfast nook and a formal dining room seating 8. We provide all the basics you need including oils, vinegars, and spices and a range of pots, pans, and other cooking supplies, and all dishes. A dinner for a group can easily be prepared in our kitchen.
The living room has a large rearrangeable couch that could serve as an additional sleeping space, the size of a double bed. We have a smart TV with a Roku stick for streaming from your favorite streaming services and an electric fireplace. We also have an extensive puzzle collection and plenty of board games that you are welcome to use.
One of our favorite parts of the house is looking out from almost any room and seeing nothing but trees! The backyard opens into a small forest, which can be enjoyed from our private hot tub (can be used year-round) or around our brand-new fire table (can be used seasonally March-October depending on rain forecast). An outdoor table seating four is available in the warmer months. We also have a gas grill you are welcome to use. We plant a big vegetable garden in the spring and summer, and invite you to harvest and eat anything that is ready and take care of the plants by watering them. We built our fire pit and patio in the backyard for a safe campfire among the trees.
The garage can park one car and the driveway can park several more. No RV parking (HOA policy). Well-behaved small pets are welcome. Absolutely no smoking on the property.
Guest access
Our home is a single story, with one step to reach the house. No steps to access the patio, and 3 steps to get from the patio to the garden and lawn. The hot tub is above ground level and has 3 steps to get in.
Notes
We’re remote workers with location flexibility, so please reach out if you’re interested no matter where you’re from! We generally prefer to avoid both very hot and very cold climates. We are unable to do reciprocal exchanges in Australia or Asia unfortunately due to time zone conflicts with remote work.
Some current interests are:
- European destinations in November 2024, March-May 2025, or September 2025 (2 people, city centers with transit or car exchanges preferred).
- A warm (and preferably pool or beach destination) that would accept 8 people with 4 bedrooms over Christmas and New Years 2024/25
- Sunny destinations from October-March (2-4 people)
- An extension to our California exchange in January or February 2025 (2 people)
- "Local" exchanges to British Columbia, Washington or Oregon at any time (2-8 people depending )
We are happy to host hospitality stays in our guest bedroom and potentially the office, but prefer to limit these stays to 1-2 nights.

Neighbourhood
We live in a beautiful, upscale, quiet neighborhood in Port Orchard among the trees. You will see deer, birds and other creatures in the yard every day, and you can see the stars at night from the hot tub due to low light pollution. The nearest grocery store and pharmacy is an 8 minute drive. We will leave you our virtual home book, which has tons of suggestions for local shops, restaurants, hikes, and getting around the area.
Upon request, we may be able to leave you our state park parking pass- please inquire as to whether this is possible.
Within our neighborhood (within walking distance or a <5 minute drive) are
* An 18-hole golf course
* 8+ miles of trails through the forest, including our favorite Big Pond Trail

Getting to my home
We recommend driving to our home, as we don’t have a nearby bus stop. You may be able to Uber from the Port Orchard foot ferry, but I honestly would not rely on it.
Nearest airport
Seattle-Tacoma 49 miles. Check out the Kitsap Airporter if you prefer not to drive, or take the light rail to downtown Seattle and ferry over. There is also a ferry from Southworth to Port Orchard. Uber operates to and from the airport as well. There is also a train station in Seattle that connects to Portland, Vancouver, and others.
Getting around
We recommend having a car/ We have a grocery store with a pharmacy within a 5 minute drive, but the walk would take over an hour. Bicycles could be another option.
**We are not currently Premium members, but are definitely willing to join for the right exchange. ** Please reach out- we are so excited to swap with you! On another platform, we have completed 12 exchanges to the USA, Canada, and Italy.
We are a couple in our 20s who work remotely and love to travel. Our most recent adventure was a giant road trip across the USA, Canada and Mexico. We stayed in AirBnBs for for 8 months during this time, and gained an appreciation for a comfortable and welcoming space. Now that we have a home of our own, we are getting that travel itch again! We love that home exchange platforms allow us to have our own cozy, personalized space with the ability to still travel.
