General overview
We live in beautiful Galicia, Spain, surrounded by mountains, lush fairy forests and the sublimely beautiful and unspoiled Atlantic coast. Our area is privileged with comfortable temperatures and endless greenery year round, unlike most of Spain.
The space
We live in a classical apartment in a historical building on Vigo's Grand Vía. Our apartment is on the 7th floor. It’s not a silent retreat, but is peaceful and as quiet as a central city apartment can be. It is large (280 m) and feels like a house in that each floor of our building only has one apartment, so it's very private.
Our apartment has three large patios and one Juliet balcony for outdoor enjoyment. One patio has an outdoor dining table that seats six and a grill, one has a seating set and the other has two chairs and a small table. We have a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine as well as an entertainment room with a large TV and streaming services.
We share our home with our four, friendly Maine coon cats. They love attention, but can be left for the day when you exploring. They sleep in their own space at night and will not disturb your sleep but would need to be cared for (litter, food and play). For a reciprocal exchange within driving distance, we could consider bringing them with us to a pet friendly home if preferred.
We have a library full of books in English and some in Spanish. We also have some toys and lots of board games for family fun.
Guest access
Guests will have access to all common spaces, our master bedroom and guest bedroom. There is also a pull out sofa in a nook in our library that can allow that room to function as a private bedroom. Our home has four actual bedrooms, but one is a cat room, where our cats sleep at night, have their litter boxes and food and another is our teen daughter’s bedroom.
We are open to a couple or parent with a baby that is not yet walking or older children, but our home is not child proofed so we can’t accept very young children. Our building has an elevator, but the apartment is not specifically equipped with accessible items such as toileting support bars or risers.
Notes
We are a quick ferry ride from the Cíes Islands, 50 minutes by train from Santiago de Compostela. 70 minutes by car from Porto, Portugal, 25 minutes from Valença, Portugal, minutes from endless, unspoiled coastline and forested mountain hikes.

Neighbourhood
Anything you could possibly need in the city is within walking distance. The mountains, sea and forests are a short drive, bus or cab ride away. We live directly across the street from El Corte Inglés, a large department and grocery store and a 7 minute walk from Vialia, a beautiful mall with a train and bus station.
Nearest airport
Vigo - 15 minutes, Santiago de Compostela 50 minutes,A Coruña and Porto, Portugal, both 1.5 hours.
Getting around
We are right in the city center of a walkable city. Taxis, buses, trains and an airport are all close by.
