Neighbourhood
We are in a suburban area, but parts of the Blue Mountains National Park are 10 minutes away. A half hour drive or 45 minutes by train takes one to the main tourist attractions of the Blue Mountains at Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba. There is a small shopping centre at East Blaxland and a larger one with a good supermarket close to Blaxland station on the main road through the Mountains.
Nearest airport
Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport is about 90 minutes by train. There is a limited bus service from the station to our house.
Getting around
10 minutes walk to the local shops; the main Blaxland shops are 25 minutes walk on the other side of the railway station. There is a larger shopping mall and smaller shops in Penrith (western part of Sydney), 20 minutes by train or 15 minutes by car down the Mountains.
