Our family island home is a sweet 2-3 bedroom house with a huge garden. We are elevated for sunshine and privacy, with bush views and a glimpse of the sea.
We are looking to swap for a historic town or city in Europe.
We are ten minutes walk to a lovely rocky cove for swimming (walking access only - no cars to that beach) and fifteen minutes walk to a gorgeous sandy cove with one of the best food trucks on the island for pizza and vegetarian meals :)
The house itself is modest, however it is light, airy and sunny. We have quality wooden mid century furniture. The sunshine, huge windows and large outdoor areas add to the lightness and beauty. We have a beautiful view over the trees.
There are numerous forest tracks linking the beaches around the coast - ideal for long coastal and forest walks without needing to get in a car - although we are happy for you to use our electric car to go further afield.
The space
The lounge and dining rooms are sunny and elevated with windows looking out to the trees below and into the distance. We have wonderful sunsets.
The bedrooms have bush outlooks. The beds are all comfortable and good quality.
The garden is large and sunny and great for kids to explore.
Guest access
There is a walk from the driveway to the house with about 10 steps and paths with a steep gradient, so a reasonable degree of mobility is required.
Notes
We are open to you bringing your dog (depending on the dog) and could be able to provide an electric car as part of the swap.

Neighbourhood
Waiheke Island is a wonderful destination for both nature and culture.
There are beautiful beaches, amazing walks in nature, great wine and vineyards, and amazing restaurants.
We are ten minutes walk from a beautiful rocky cove (walking access only, no cars to this beach) which is a local secret.
We are fifteen minutes walk to a popular sandy cove with Dragonfired foodtruck for a delicious lunch or dinner by the sea.
We are close to Oneroa (20min walk or regular bus ride) for the best shops on the island.
Getting to my home
Waiheke Island is 45mins from downtown Auckland on the ferry. We are then a 10minute bus ride or bike ride from the ferry terminal on Waiheke.
It is easy to have a day trip to Auckland city to explore galleries, bars, museums, the university, and the city centre.
But while on Waiheke, you can feel like you are a world away from the city.
Nearest airport
Auckland airport
Getting around
We are a short bus ride or bike ride to local shops, cafes and bars at Oneroa village.
A frequent bus (every half hour) will take you to many of the island's vineyards. So, with a 5 minute walk to the bus stop and a 20 minute bus ride, you can be enjoying wonderful Waiheke vineyards, cellar doors and restaurants.
We are also open to swapping cars so that you can go exploring further afield.
