Neighbourhood
The small, creative rural township of Bellingen is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive for all the essential groceries, great restaurants and cafes, and a swim or kayak in the Bellinger River. Beautiful beaches and rainforest swimming holes are a 15 minute drive, and we are a 30 minute drive to World Heritage Dorrigo National Park and to The Big Banana at Coffs Harbour.
There are many local festival and events through the year including Camp Creative, Dorrigo Bluegrass Festival, Bellingen Readers and Writers Festival, numerous galleries including the new Yarilla Art Museum in Coffs Harbour, the monthly Bellingen Market, and two weekly natural produce markets in our town. Check out performances at Bellingen Memorial Hall and Jetty Theatre Coffs Harbour and live music at The Federal Hotel Bellingen. Eat well at wonderful local restaurants including Bruno's Bellingen, Charlie's on Church, Three Blue Ducks Bellingen and enjoy great coffee and food at all cafes.

Our neighbours are quiet, friendly and helpful with most of us being long time residents.

Coffs Harbour Domestic Airport is a 30 min drive with flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. Car hire or a shuttle service can be pre-booked.
Marg and Nick's home in Bellingen is delightful – perched high up in the trees, it was a true rainforest getaway. Waking up in the morning to birds and the rainforest with not another house in sight was so serene. We enjoyed coffee on the deck watching the sunrise and loved the toasty warm fireplace. The house is inviting with everything you might need (even an outdoor hot tub!). It was clean and tidy and the beds were warm and comfy during our winter stay. I am in love with their newly-renovated bathroom and rain shower – it is devine. The kids loved feeding the chickens, exploring the beautiful property and picking fruit! Marg is friendly and a great communicator and provided very helpful tips to make our stay more enjoyable. Bellingen is a stunning town – a hidden gem and definitely one to add to the list of ‘must-see’ places. We visited Dorrigo National Park and Dangar Falls and nearby towns, Sawtell and Coffs Harbour while there. It was a great home exchange experience.
Marg and Nick stayed in our house in Pottsville and were the perfect house guests. They communicated if they needed to check anything and left the house spotless. They even folded our sheets that we had left on the clothesline and left gifts for our kids for our return home. Very kind! Marg and Nick are friendly and respectful and I would be more than happy to invite them back in a heartbeat.
Marg and Nick were great guests. We had quick and easy communications and they were extremely helpful to arrange the apartment for the next back to back visit. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet in person, but we look forward to future opportunities to continue exchanging. I would definitely recommend exchanging with Marg & Nick!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Abby's family home. It is modern, well equipped, and it has a heated pool which I made good use of. There are multiple spaces for relaxing both inside the home, deck and yard. The area is peaceful and a wildlife conservation area.
Abby sent a very thorough guest compendium to advise us about her home and attractions in the local area. A great example of her excellent communication and welcoming style.
Thank you for hosting us Abby.
Abby and her family were wonderful to host. Abby communicated well and our home was returned to us spotlessly clean. Abby even sent some photos of her gorgeous children as they enjoyed meeting our chickens. They were lovely to receive.
A beautiful family who I would be very happy to host again and recommend to other.
Lisa is a great host who communicated well, provided useful information, and great at checking in with us. She sent some really lovely friends to greet us and we really enjoyed getting to know them more at a wine festival. Fun!
Lisa's home is well equipped and very comfortable. The location is incredible with restaurants, cafes, and several supermarkets nearby plus, best of all just a short walk to a great beach. Perfect location for exploring with just a 20 minute walk or quick bus ride into Tarragona.
We LOVED staying at Lisa's for 2 weeks and hope to stay again soon. Thank you Lisa x
I most definitely recommend an exchange with Lisa.
