General overview
Our cozy mid-century modern family home is close to the beach, shops and dining. Open floor plan and large windows with plenty of space in the living/dining/kitchen to hang out.
The space
We live and homeschool in our cozy mid-century modern home with 3 kids (ages 8-12 years old) and our 3 cats.
There are 3 bedrooms:
Room 1: main bedroom with king-sized bed
Room 2: kids bedroom with twin/twin bunks and computer desks
Room 3: oversized kids bedroom with twin XL on one end and twin floor bed with lego building upper on other end
The main bedroom has attached 3/4 bathroom and separate office space with multiple monitors for your use for working remotely. Split floorplan house has 2 kids bedrooms sharing another full bathroom.
Open living/dining/kitchen area, barstools for 3, large dining table seats 6-8 people. Lots of board games and toys for kids, and additional twin air mattresses and sleeping pads can be set up if more space is needed (the main office area has room for another bed or 2 easily or in the living also).
Our outside space: while we are in the city and on a smaller lot, we do have a small pool out the back door and trampoline out the front door. If you're heading to the beach, our sheds have all you would need, including sun shades, umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, 2 kids life jackets.
Full sized washer/dryer, new Weber gas grill, updated kitchen with gas stove, microwave and full-sized refrigerator and dishwasher.
Guest access
House is ranch style and all on one level, but there are a few steps to get in to the front door and outside to side yard pool area.

Neighbourhood
Hip and artsy downtown Lake Worth Beach and its sidewalk cafes, art galleries and specialty shops is just minutes away. So is the oceanfront! You're never at a loss to find something to do in town. Grab your green market bag and head to the waterfront Green Market on Saturdays in West Palm Beach (one of the top Farmers Markets in the country). Play 18 holes at the waterfront public golf course. Spend the day at the beach where you will find shops, restaurants and a 300' pier where you can fish or just enjoy a leisurely stroll. Explore the Arts District where local craft brewery Mathews Brewery has ongoing events to enjoy. Or take in a live glass-blowing demonstration at the Benzaiten Center for Arts just around the corner. The city hosts many outdoor festivals throughout the year. Centrally located to Palm Beach International Airport, Tri Rail, Brightline, downtown West Palm and the glitzy Island of Palm Beach. Come and enjoy South Florida living!
Getting to my home
Flying to one of the nearby airports (there are 3 within about 1 hour 30 minutes drive), and renting a car is the best way to get around. You could likely also do uber/lyft and public transportation the entire time as there is lots to do close by.
Nearest airport
Palm Beach International Airport is a 12 minute drive from the house, Fort Lauderdale Airport is about 45 minutes and Miami Airport is about 1 hour 30 minutes drive.
Getting around
Bus is only a few blocks away but car is easiest way to get around. There is also near by access to the Tri-Rail trainline as well as the Brightline train that can take you from Miami to Orlando.

We had a wonderful time at Jamaica Beach! The house is very comfortable with a downstairs outside patio for a relaxing afternoon. Jamaica Beach is only 10 minutes away, so we went there in the mornings to fly kites, play bocci and generally relax. Over all, a very relaxing time. Be sure to check out the Shrimp & Stuff food truck. Amazing. -

We are the Rogers Family, 2 adults and 3 kids (8/10/12 years old). We homeschool so we are available to (and prefer) travel outside traditional school breaks. We have completed 2 PLU exchanges when we lived in Texas, and have now moved to sunny South Florida. We had au pairs for years while the kids were younger from Europe (the Netherlands and Germany) and we would love to be able to go visit them and also take the kids to see more of the world. We have 3 cats (we foster kittens at our local shelter and couldn’t say goodbye to two of the boy kittens in spring of 2021). My mom may also travel with us if her schedule allows.
