When Doris and Johnny stayed in our home, we were truly delighted to have the opportunity to welcome them and share both our home and local area as part of their travels. We happily provided groceries, local treats, and full access to our home, all with the hope of creating a warm, comfortable, and memorable experience for them. They were enthusiastic about their journey, and we sincerely appreciated the kindness present throughout much of our communication before finalizing the Exchange. Like any PLU experience, this exchange also offered valuable opportunities for growth and reflection. Through a few misunderstandings surrounding household routines and expectations, we were reminded just how meaningful exceptionally detailed communication can be as hosts. We are especially grateful to Doris for so graciously sharing her perspective, as it gave us the chance to further refine how we prepare and communicate with future guests. . Their openness helped us better understand how even the most seemingly obvious agreements, such as litter box care, petfeeding, cleaning routines, and household responsibilities, can benefit from even clearer communication from us as hosts. Doris kindly offered to speak about this on the phone, we have not yet had the opportunity to fully reconnect on that, I absolutely trust that this simply reflects the busyness that often follows travel, and I remain appreciative of the willingness that was initially shown. For that lesson, we are truly thankful. Every PLU experience helps us grow in generosity, hospitality, and understanding, and we deeply appreciate Doris and Johnny for being part of that journey. We wish them continued joy and wonderful adventures in all their future travels.

Doris and Johnny were wonderful guests! They stayed with us while we were also in the apartment, using our spare guest room. They were very respectful of our space and left the apartment in impeccable condition. We had some lovely conversations and even shared a dinner together to celebrate their wedding anniversary. We would love to visit them one day in Kentucky!

Doris and John were our first guests through PLU and our experience was an absolute joy ..They were incredibly gracious and appreciative of every detail of our home . Contact before their stay was super easy and it was lovely to get to know a bit more about them before they arrived. They looked after Bertie the cat, the garden and the house with such care. We’d love to have them back and only regret not getting the chance to meet one another while they were here. Perhaps next time!
