General Overview
House was built in 1878 and retains historic charm while being a solid, comfortable home. The house has beautiful light and high ceilings(for an old house). Property is just over three acres on a hill which has views of the Catskill mountains to the east and the Berkshires to the west. We have a few cows as neighbors; it’s peaceful.

Getting to my home
We’re 12 minutes from the Hudson Amtrak station; train from NYC is two hours. Albany Airport about an hour’s drive, NYC area airports about 2 hours and 15 minutes drive.

Marnie
We’re an active, adventurous couple who are occasionally astonished to find ourselves in our mid-fifties. We’re friendly though not extroverted. Brian studied engineering but currently does product marketing(Oracle). He grew up in a Navy family and flew fighter jets himself after doing ROTC at Cornell. He loves fast cars and going to the track but also is a devoted “girl dad” and never forgets to refresh the birdfeeder. Marnie grew up near Toronto and is nostalgically Canadian. She studied English Lit(Queen’s U, UNH)and remains an avid reader, occasional writer and hardcore genealogy nerd.. We always have at least one rescue mutt. Other current interests are hiking, movies, art, native plant gardening and raising butterflies(summer). We *love* east coast swing dancing(Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Balboa) and are going to a summer dance camp in NH this year.
Our daughter, Sydney, graduates from UBC this year and will occasionally travel with us.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
