We love our home. It's the perfect size for a growing family (with one parent that works from home), located in a coveted area, easy to maintain, and on a lovely street with the most wonderful neighbours. Hubby is a carpenter and we put a lot of care into making it a great place to live -- he even built the front and back yards by himself.
The space
A long narrow home, yet filled with natural light, you'll find 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, a laundry with all-in-one washer/dryer and an open-plan kitchen and lounge that flows out to the backyard -- a great space to kick back and relax in.
Because it is home to 1-year-old twins, we make an effort to ensure it's child safe. We have locks/magnets on kitchen/laundry cupboards and drawers.
We think our home makes an excellent swap with another young family -- there are many useful amenities such as a baby bath, nappy change table, highchairs, easy-to-use UV steriliser, as well as many toys to play with. Just ask us anything if you have any questions!
Guest access
Single storey. There is a gentle ramp leading into the house (for easy pram access) and two short step-downs as part of the backyard decking design (onto the grass).
Notes
The bedrooms comprise: One master with a king size bed, one nursery with two baby cots (which can be converted into toddler beds by taking one panel off), and one office/spare room featuring a sofa that folds out into a queen size bed.
We have a large family dog named Forte who lives with us, but we do not expect people to dog-sit unless they want to! For those open to it, he is extremely good natured. He is an inside dog but does not sit or sleep on any furniture. We are more than happy to dog-sit at yours if required!

Neighbourhood
We are in a highly sought-after quiet leafy pocket of Coburg (north of Melbourne).
Coburg is a charming yet contemporary family-friendly neighbourhood 8km (5mi) from Melbourne’s city centre (around 25 mins drive or a bit more via public transport).
The main route from our home to the city is the bustling Sydney Road. We are on the doorstep of the incredible hustle and bustle of Brunswick -- an eclectic and artsy neighbourhood famous for amazing thrift stores, bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops.
Here’s a quote from Raph Rashid, the founder of Brunswick’s famous BeatBox Kitchen food truck:
“For me, Brunswick has always been about the diversity more than anything. It’s a soulful place where you can get lots of different versions of whatever you want in the same suburb. From 2011 to now, the suburb has boomed... those extra people have fed life on Sydney Road, made all the new bars and restaurants boom and generated a creative buzz unmatched in any other Melbourne suburb. There are pockets all along Sydney Road now and the whole area has so much to offer.”

Around Coburg is the Merri Creek Trail (perfect for tranquil nature walks), Coburg Lake (great for family picnics), and the historic Pentridge Prison (where the notorious Australian Ned Kelly was once kept) — this has been converted into a vibrant entertainment hub with restaurants, shops and a cinema.

Other renowned inner north areas nearby include Fitzroy and Northcote.
Getting to my home
We are approx a 20 minute drive from Melbourne airport (best by taxi or uber if you can spare $30-$40 as opposed to catching the bus into the city and then public transport back north again).
Nearest airport
As above!
Getting around
Once you have arrived, you have a many options. There are 2 trams you can take into the city (the stops are around 10 mins walk away). There's also a train that is quicker, but a 20 min walk away.
Alternatively, we can possibly arrange for you to use our family car fitted with two baby seats in the back. It's a 2016 auto Subaru Outback.
There are tons of dining options and supermarkets available to you within 10-30 walking distance.
