We would love to welcome you to our home in Denmark - homeland of H.C. Andersen and the vikings! We live in a beautiful little eco village just 25 minutes by train from Copenhagen city. The village has a strong community, and you will meet and greet our friendly and helpful neighbours.
We live in the historic city Roskilde - former Viking capital.
We are surrounded by cherry trees, apple trees, berries and chestnut. It is paradise for children to explore safely with no cars and friendly animals to say hello to.
In the village we have a farm shop with all organic vegetables, nuts, cheese, beers, wine, chocolate and much more. It is open two hours a day (not in July though). On site you will find sheep, goats, horses, rabbits - they are not ours, so you will not need to care for them. We have a cat though, that you would have to take good care of 🐈
We have a clean lake on site you can swim in, a shared playground with basket, trampoline, swings and more. We have bikes for all ages - also electric bikes to take you on a fast trip along the coast. We love everything about our home: social village life, easy access to nature, a wonderful and safe world for children to explore, fast connection to Copenhagen, short distance to Roskilde harbour and Roskilde Fjord. Come and see for yourself!
Our house has room for 6 people (115 m2) and is equipped with everything a family needs. It is made of sustainable materials and has all the things to make your stay comfortable; dishwasher, coffee maker, bathtub etc.
Our home is "Nordic" in style with light wooden floors and beams. We have two private gardens and several green areas that are shared with neighbours.
Don’t hesitate to get in contact and let’s exchange ❤️
The Space
Our house has room for 6 people with two bedrooms and one mezzanine. Downstairs we have a kitchen and a living room in one, a bedroom and a "greenery" with a rocking chair. We also have two private gardens or terraces - one in the front of the house and one behind our house. Upstairs we have two bedrooms, one bathroom with a tub and a shower, a living room plus a mezzanine where two people can sleep. All in all we have place for 8 people to sleep in the house, if they don't mind sharing a doublebed.
The house is surrounded by green areas, and though we are close to Copenhagen and Roskilde city centre, it feels like a green sanctuary with no cars.
Guest Access
We have a set of stairs, two floors + a mezzanine.
Notes
We have a cat, so be aware if you have allergies.
We will provide you with a house guide if we agree to exchange.

Sidsel and Jacob’s house is very bright and pleasant. The atmosphere is airy and light, and you instantly feel at home! The outside is a little paradise with the large shared garden, fruit trees, children’s play area with a trampoline, rabbits, and a pétanque court… a small eco-hamlet with shared laundry facilities, a common room for large meals and celebrations. Living here has been a refreshing experience! There are beautiful bike rides to enjoy in the surrounding area. A feeling of peace and serenity. It does you good!
A huge thank you to Sidsel and Jacob, who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and throughout our entire stay. They are very approachable people with a genuine desire to talk and share. Their enthusiasm is unwavering, and they always have a smile on their faces. We found this truly enjoyable and enriching. We hope to see you again soon!!
We are so grateful for our time in Sidsel’s special home. The neighborhood is beautiful and so fun to explore. Our kids were able to be independent since it is car-free and spend so much time outdoors.
We loved our time with their cat Marlow. They were so generous to share their bikes with us, which made it easy to explore Roskilde’s harbor and town center and to get to the train station to access Copenhagen.
Sidsel was so warm and easy to communicate with. The experience was wonderful from beginning to end.
Sidsel and Jakob’s home is completely magical. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s very scandi chic in its style - comfortable, light with stylish art and a killer coffee maker. The area is unlike anything we’ve experienced - the eco village is so interesting. We loved the safe community vibe, the open spaces for our children to run and play in and fruit picking from the many plum, cherry and apple trees. The house is bike distance from Roskilde Fjord, which was fantastic. We loved swimming in the Fjord, eating pastries at the chic harbour front cafes and learning about the Viking heritage at the incredible museum. The house is well placed for quick day trips into Copenhagen. We went three times during our stay - 25 mins into the city.
I can’t recommend the house more. We had a very memorable holiday. Sidsel and Jakob were warm, easy to communicate with, honest and lovely people.
Dear Hannah and Duncan
Thank you so much for your warm words! We truly enjoyed getting to know you and exchanging homes with you.
Hope you are all well!
How nice it was to know Sidsel, Jakob and their 3 children as guests in Lunz! Great in conversation, easy going in everything, helpful, lovable and highly recommended as guests through and through.
It's a real shame that we didn't get to know each other in person, but I think we'll make up for it! In my view, we have nevertheless grown fond of each other.
It's great that you were there and enriched the house and its history with your presence!
We had the pleasure of hosting Sidselmarie, Jakob, Luna, Leo, and Alfrida for two weeks during the summer of 2025. Communication was very easy from the start. We first met them via a video call and were lucky to see them briefly halfway through their stay.
We had a couple of important issues at home that were absolutely not their fault (these things always seem to happen when we're away 😅), and communication was excellent each time as we worked to find a solution.
They took great care of our home and even left us lovely treats and drawings 😊. We highly recommend them!
Sidsel, Jakob and family took lovely care of our house whilst we were away. They left sweet notes and even got our kids a little gift. We would definitely recommend them as house guests. Really easy to communicate with.
We stayed in Dagmar’s house in the mountains for eight wonderful days.
It is a beautiful, peaceful and safe place, completely surrounded by nature. We travelled with our three children, and they loved both the house and the garden. We all slept so well in the comfortable beds, undisturbed by Wi-Fi and with the peaceful silence of the mountains around us.
Nearby is the lovely town of Lunz, where you can swim in the lake, enjoy an ice cream, rent a SUP board or a small boat. It is an idyllic and charming place, and swimming with the mountains and the sky as your backdrop is unforgettable.
The house itself is large, full of history and character. It reminded us of the magical wardrobe from The Chronicles of Narnia—who knows, maybe we even found the entrance. 😊
Communication with Dagmar was easy, warm and helpful throughout.
Thank you so much, Dagmar, for sharing your wonderful home with us. We are leaving with beautiful memories.
Feedback for Ted·Non-Reciprocal exchange·10 nights
Ted and Caroline and their two children, Victor and Salomé, were very friendly and lovely guests. We got to spend some time together, and it was great to get to know this wonderful family. They left our house in good condition and took great care of our cat. We definitely recommend to have them as guests.
Feedback for Alicia·Non-Reciprocal exchange·15 nights
Alicia, Jason and their children were wonderful guests. They left our home in a perfect condition, and even left a sweet gift for us. We found our house clean and well taken care of. We definitely recommend having this family as your guests. You are welcome with us any time again.
We spent 15 wonderful days in Laurène and Arnauds home. We had easy access to the sea, rivers, towns and cities. Their home is great for a family with lots of space, a jacuzzi and a garden with things for the children to enjoy. They even let us borrow their car which was a big plus for us. We were impressed with how much there was to see and do within 30 minutes drive from the house.
Laurène and Arnaud were very helpful, open, warm and communicative during our stay, and we appreciated the extensive house guide to both the area and the house. We truly recommend a stay or an exchange with this family! Take care all of you and thanks again <3
Feedback for Hannah·Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Hannah and Duncan gave us the best time in Glasgow. Their beautiful and spacious house was a superb setting for exploring Glasgow and the surrounding area. We borrowed their bikes for our whole family and could bike to the amazing nearby parks and great food options in the Shawlands.
The house is well equipped for a family with creative toys and books for all ages. It’s lovely to sit in the garden and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee when the sun is out.
Hannah and Duncan were great hosts who are quick to reply and are just great people. Highly recommended!

We are a family of five living in Denmark in an eco-village called Munksøgård. Our children are 3, 7, and 12 years old. We have had a couple of great exchange experiences since 2023. We have many years of experience with renting out our place via other platforms. We love to travel with our children, and find that home exchange makes so much sense and adds a cultural- and a friendship - aspect to the travel that is not found in a hotel.
The village that we live in is a small eco community where we each have our separate houses, but share large green areas, access to lakes, playground and 5 beautiful common houses. In the heart of the community is an old farm house where some villagers have horses. Other villagers take care of sheep, goats and rabbits - this means an easy access to experience animals without having to care for them - usually a big plus for children!
We have a wonderful bright house in Denmark, Scandinavia, in Roskilde close to Copenhagen. Easy connection to both Sweden and all of the coastline in North of Zealand. Roskilde is a historical city known for vikings, the fjord, the harbour, the music festival, the 387 year old cathedral and much more.
Our house has room for 6+ people and is equipped with everything a family needs. It is made of sustainable materials. We have a cat that is part of the swap :-)
We are looking for simultaneous swaps, non simultaneous swaps og globe exchanges in 2025-2026.
