General Overview

The Nutshed is a three-bedroom home towards the rear of our rural property, which has been set up for guest accommodation. It is peaceful, private and well equipped for permanent living or holidays.

The Space

Instead and out, this is a rustic, quirky space with most fixtures and fitting sourced second hand. The living is open plan with an open laundry and secondary bathroom at one end, flowing through to the dining, kitchen and lounge. There is also a second upper lounge that is a good space for reading. There are three large bedrooms off the central hallway along with a family bathroom and separate toilet. There is double glazing throughout and it is warm and sunny all year round. The property is planted in a few hundred (poorly producing) nut trees - almond, hazelnut, macademia and walnut - along with other fruit and native trees. This is a quiet rural road, surrounded on all sides by dairy fams, so aside from the occasional mooing of cows and birdsong, it is a very quiet and relaxing space. Yet it is only a short drive from beaches and town amenities. Our own home is about 100 metres away.

Guest Access

Access is up a formed farm (gravel) driveway and there is plenty of parking for vehicles and boats outside the house

Neighbourhood

This is a quiet rural neighbourhood consisting primarily of dairy farms. It is centrally located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, just a 5-minute drive to Matatā, 5 minutes to Thornton Beach, 15 minutes to Whakatāne, 20 minutes to Ōhope Beach, 40 minutes to Papamoa/Tauranga and one hour to Rotorua.
