Neighbourhood
We've fallen in love with North-London!
Our house is the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of London (apart from all the other things London has to offer :-)). On the crossroads of typical London villages like Highgate, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, and Tufnell Park, all easily reachable on foot or a quick tube/busride away, our neighbourhood is an up and coming area with traditional pubs next to independent coffee shops. It even has its own cat-café! There also is a nice farmers market on Saturday Mornings. Do plan a visit to Highgate Cemetery, and walk up to Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath for some stunning views of the London skyline. Make sure to bring your swimsuit, because the swimming ponds and Parliament Hill Lido are open year round! Perfect for that blissful morning swim.
Nearest airport
Fastest connection by public transport is to Heathrow and London City Airport (under the hour).
Luton, Gatwick and Stansted are a good hour by public transport.
Getting around
Our home is conveniently located on the Northern Line and brings you to Camden Town in 10 minutes, St Pancras in 15 minutes and the West End in 20 minutes. The idyllic Tufnell Park is only 10 minutes walk away (or a quick one stop tube ride if you prefer), as is lovely Highgate Village. More nature can be found in Hampstead Heath, around 20 minutes walk, along quiet leafy streets.
Buses aplenty also stop around the corner, and the Overground Upper Holloway is 7 minutes walk.
The house is located in a side street, with shops and pubs just around the corner.

We were delighted to be Katheline’s first PLU exchange! It really feels like a privilege to find London exchanges, and this one was a gem. So well located, a couple of minutes from the tube station, not far from beautiful Hampstead heath and walkable to pretty Highgate village, this was ideal for our family. Their home is immaculate, with plenty of space and tastefully decorated. Looking after the three beautiful cats was a real bonus, especially for our children. They are no trouble at all and we enjoyed their company in the evenings. Katheline made us feel so welcome with homemade cookies and wine on our arrival. We would absolutely recommend this home for anyone who is lucky enough to get to swap with them.
Katheline’s family were the perfect guests in our home. From our first messages and video call before the exchange, Katheline was easy to communicate with and always quick to respond. By the time we finished our exchange it was like chatting to a friend. We returned to a perfectly clean home and a really sweet book as a gift to our children. We are already thinking about repeating our exchange which I always think is the ultimate testimony.
We've had a wonderful stay at Sarah's beautiful home in Bath. Her house is so nice, spacious, and cosy (and immaculately clean!) and has everything for a relaxing stay after a day of exploring the city. We walked everywhere from her house, but there are also lots of buses right around the corner, going into the city centre, as well as some great deli's and shops just minutes away. Communication with Sarah was very easy. The perfect exchange!
Sarah stayed in our home in London as part of our exchange with her in Bath. During her stay she kept in contact with us, sending us pictures of our cats, so we could rest assured everything was fine. Her family is adorable, and they left our house in perfect condition. It felt like welcoming friends in our house!
