General overview
Welcome to our home, in a small village on the River Wurm, with it’s historical bridge.
The space
The living area is dominated by the central staircase over 3 floors and glass windows looking out onto the fields. We have lots of space but in actual fact we have few rooms.
The entrance is above street level, with a large open space , with dining area, couch, and wood burning stove for cold winter evenings, with a well equipped kitchen , which looks out onto the herb garden.
The 2nd bedroom, with a single bed, that pulls out into a double bed, with adjacent bathroom, goes off from this floor.
Upstairs we have a master bedroom, with a door onto the Terrace, a bathroom with bath tub and shower.
One of our favorite spots is the gallery, looking out to the terrace.
When the weather allows we eat most of our meals outside and enjoy our easy maintenance garden.
On the top floor we have mainly storage, but our Grandchildren love to play with the few toys that are still in the house from our Children. It is also possible to make a bed in this space, but in summer it can get quiet warm up there.
We have a child’s high chair, but no baby bed. The house isn’t really stocked up for small children, but our Young Grandchildren come and visit so we have a few things to play with.
We have a strictly no smoking and no pet house. Smoking is only allowed outside.
During your exchange we will close off our hobby rooms, one up in the attic, and one in the Celler.
Guest access
We have a lot of stairs in the house.
Notes
There is public transport in the village, but it is definitely easier with your own Transport.
You can use our e bikes, if we don’t take them with us.
Stuttgart airport is 25 mins away in the car and about 90 mins with public transport.

On a hot summers day it’s very pleasant to go into the river , and at least get your feet wet. The village children play in the shallow water. If you have a fishing license you might get lucky and catch a fish.

People Like Us Local Guide
We can certainly offer information about the area, if schedules allow we can meet up for a coffee or even a hike.
Fiona and Martin’s home is an ingeniously designed barn conversion with plenty of light and lots of different areas to sit. We particularly liked the garden terrace and the 2 sofas where we could put our feet up. It’s conveniently located for shopping and sightseeing, our favorites were the city of Tübingen and Liechtenstein and Hohenzollern castles. The area is also good for cycling and hiking.
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Fiona and Martins house. Despite spring was already well on its way it was still chilly. Especially in the evening it was extremely pleasant to start a fire in the stove and enjoy the warmth with a glass of wine. During daytime we wandered the old villages and castles and hiked through the "Monbachschlucht", one of the many beautiful gorges in the area. We did truly enjoy ourselves with the help of the tips from our caring and thoughtful hosts.
Fiona and Martins house is really cosy and we had a warm welcome with some nice local presents. The house has all you need for a relaxed holiday. A very nice big couch and a stove. We needed a nice place to relax and have family time and it was great. A big and very complete kitchen. A nice bathtub made it complete. We had more than enough space for us as a family of 5. The kids loved the Playmobil and the djembes. The manual was very clear and Fiona is really easy going.
Thanks Eva
We found that
It was also uncomplicated with you.
Fiona and Martin's house in southern Germany, close to Stuttgart is great. This is a house converted from an old barn into a comfortable and well-equipped residence. Outside there is a small garden full of vegetables and spices which we enjoyed very much.
When we arrived at the house Fiona and Martin welcomed us with coffee and local pastries. We received excellent explanations from them about the house and the possibilities in the area.We stayed there for a week and it served us as an excellent point for sightseeing trips to the Romantic Road, the Black Forest, Heidelberg and Tübingen
We stayed at Fiona & Martin on our way to Italy. We stayed there for 2 nights. Fiona prepared everything and made sure that we have a great stay in their house.
They also recommended places to visit. We went for a day trip to Tübingen. Nice & cozy little town with medieval buildings, river - where you can take a boat trip or simply enjoy the view from the river bank.
We had 2 relaxed days before we continue our drive to southern Italy.
Thank you Fiona & Martin. Looking forward to to your visit to Denmark 🇩🇰
Best regards,
The Jensens family
Fiona and Martin were perfect guests. Communication with them leading up to and during the exchange was great. They took good care of our home and cats and we are very happy that they enjoyed themselves. They left us lovely, homemade gifts both as a welcome and a thank you.
Fiona and Martin were discreet and friendly hosts. And who left the house clean. Thank you very much.
Fiona and Martin stayed with us in Crete. The communication with them was excellent. They looked after our house throughout their stay and left it in perfect condition.
Martin even contributed to the house with gardening work and small carpentry repairs
Vicki & Antonette‘s , home is a peaceful part of paradise.
A place to recharge , but also explore. We enjoyed a slower pace of sightseeing on their E bikes, taking in the countryside and where able to visit friends & family.
public transport was also a great option to avoid high parking fees, in the larger cities.
The highlight is definitely the deck, with its view into the distance,.
and
Amazing sunsets.
For us it was a perfect exchange. We would love to return and meet you in person.
Vicki & Antonette are perfect guests,
Communication was easy, before & during our exchange.
If they hadn’t left a card & gifts we wouldn’t have know that they had been in the House.
Although that’s not true, they did look after our Garden, on the Hot days.
Thanks for this experience.
It was a real pleasure to exchange with Hilde & Folke & their 3 Teenies ..
Communication was easy from the start, in an uncomplicated manner.
One of the things I enjoy about Exchanging, is that when one returns from Traveling, The house is clean & Tidy, and this was most definitely the case .
This was a Globe exchange, and we didn’t have the chance to meet up, but hopefully we will be able to meet in the near future, when we are exchanging in their area.
I would highly recommend Exchanging with Hilde & her family.
Kathy has a lovely home, which is a great base for exploring the area, we had our bikes with us, and were able to do a few interesting rides.
Due to circumstances we were unfortunately not able to meet in person , maybe another time.
Contact was easy through what’s app, & where able to clear any questions.
I would certainly recommend staying at Kathy’s home.
Thanks for being part of this amazing community.
Eva stayed with her family at our House,
It was a pleasure to have them here. Our communication was easy beforehand and during their stay.
I am in awe of family’s that can leave a place nice and tidy despite having 3 boys, to help keep the place tidy. I know I wouldn’t have dared try this when my kids where younger.
we are very much looking forward to visiting their place later on in the year.
we would definitely recommend this family .
We really enjoyed our exchange at Uri & Aliza‘s house , in a very small village, Where they have created a peaceful retreat to the hustle & bustle of the Island..
Although its just 30 mins away from the beach & city.
We loved the creative use of re-using materials that have had a previous life, along with the art work that is throughout the House..
We did some hiking in the area, exploring some of the ancient History, and local villages. Explored different beaches and The Local food.
But, we also spent a lot of time just relaxing in the Garden. Listening to the sound of almost silence,
We would definitely recommend staying here. If you want to enjoy a peaceful rural setting, but with the sound & energy of the city , very reachable.
We would definitely look forward to repeating an exchange.
We had the pleasure of meeting Aliza & Uri, before we left for the airport.
A lovely couple, who we immediately felt very comfortable with.
Communication beforehand and during the exchange , was quick & easy.
Everything was fine when we returned. We would recommend hosting with Uri & Aliza.
Thanks for the beautiful drawing, that was left for us on our return.
Aliza posted photos of our house on social media, which I found particularly fascinating, to see our house through her eyes.
We hope to meet again.
Donna and her family where our very first guests . Even though they only stayed a couple of nights, it felt like a milestone in our adventures with PLU .
Communication was easy & They left the place as they found it.
Which is super after being away for 2 weeks & the house is nice & tidy.
We look forward to being able to visit Donnas home sometime in the future, and maybe we can meet in person.
