General overview
We have a 4 bedroom 15 year old home that is comfortable and unpretentious with a large lawn area with beautiful views out to the ranges. In the winter a log fire keeps the home cosy and enjoy time in the outdoor spa - most nights it is clear enough to see stars. In the summer enjoy the outdoors area with covered deck, comfortable outdoor furniture, wood fired pizza oven and a brand new inground "magnapool" mineral swimming pool to sooth all of the aches and pains away. As we are a busy farming family our house is clean and comfortable but not a "show home". We have a small (non shedding) dog Bear. We are non smokers and due to allergies we can only accept non-smokers into our home. Our farm is organically certified and we live as organically as possible. Apart from the outdoor pool you will also find a large trampoline and a soccer goal & ball - family fun! We have a large greenhouse which depending on the season will either be full of veges or an overgrown jungle - don't expect perfection! We have loads of toys, board games and as Amy is a teacher & author we have books galore for all ages. Not a typical tourist area of New Zealand but we are located 2 hours north of Wellington and would be a great stopover between Wellington and Taupo, Hawkes Bay or Taranaki. There are lovely bushwalks around the Manawatu region (a 5 minute drive will find you at the stunning Te Apiti-Manawatu Gorge Track walk. We are located approx an 8 minute drive to both Palmerston North and Feilding. You are welcome to explore our farm behind our house - the track to the back is approx 1.5km which is an easy walk there and back. A 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the village of Bunnythorpe you will find a dairy for ice creams and basic supplies and next door to the dairy is Cuba bakery which has the most delicious food. Please note that although it is a 4 bedroom house, one bedroom will be unavailable as it is used for storage. Bedding configuration is 1 king bed with ensuite, and 2 king singles (one in each of the children's bedrooms). There are also 2 trundler single beds that can be set up for 2 extra children if required, although space in the bedrooms is limited with this option.
Guest access
All on one level, no stairs. Although we have ticked no pets allowed because of allergies, we would allow you to bring your puppy/dog if they are a non shedding breed.
Notes
We are just trial members until we work out how it works. Our availability for exchange is generally school holidays. We would also be looking to stay around the North Island of New Zealand for 3-5 nights during most school holidays. We are looking to travel to California/Arizona in April/May 2024 and our house will be available for approx 3 weeks then.
