General overview
Our family home is a rare oasis in the city - it is light and airy and very peaceful. It is the perfect home for a family as we have plenty of toys (our children are born in 2016), a trampoline in the garden and are near two major parks and several playgrounds within a few blocks' walk.
We have 2 bedrooms in the souterrain, which remains cool in summer and warm in the winter. One room has a US-king sized bed and the other bedroom is perfect for kids and has a bunk bed, climbing wall, rope, rings and swing. There is a WC and bathroom with shower and tub (after Jan 1, 2024, it will have a Japanese sitting tub!). On the 1st floor there are two rooms: one is a guest room with a queen-sized bed and a desk and another is a home office with Peloton bike and sauna. There is a private bath with WC and shower on this floor.
In short, the apartment has everything for comfort in all season: fluffy rugs, super comfortable mattresses and good pillows! (I'm such a stickler for pillows), ample and comfortable seating, fireplace, garden. As you can sense, we love our house!
The space
Our home is light and airy. The photos are a bit outdated as we have re-decorated and created a few cozy corners in the home.

We have 3 floors. The ground floor is the living floor and the souterrain and 1st floor are sleeping floors with home office/gym.
Notes
This is a great area for children - we are between two parks and there are several playgrounds and smaller play areas within a few minutes walk.

We are a family of 4 (Susan, Nikhil and twins born in 2016) that love to travel and are experienced home exchangers (we have done 6 at the time of this writing). We moved from New York City to Amsterdam in 2019 and have been loving our new life. We take any chance we can (limited to school holidays) to explore our new continent. We enjoy house exchanges because we like to live as locals. In fact, it was during an exchange that we fell in love with Amsterdam and decided to uproot our family.
