Neighbourhood

What guests love most about our neighborhood is the perfect balance of convenience, walkability, and authentic Costa Rican charm. Plaza Colonial is located in the heart of Playas del Coco, one of Guanacaste’s most welcoming beach towns. From the condo, you can stroll to dozens of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, shops, grocery stores, and local markets without needing a car. The beach is just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy morning walks along the beach, spectacular sunsets, or an evening cocktail or meal at the many options on the beach. Playas del Coco is known for its friendly atmosphere, year-round sunshine, and excellent location as a base for exploring Costa Rica’s famous Gold Coast. Within a short drive, you’ll find beautiful beaches such as Ocotal, Hermosa, Panama, and Flamingo, along with snorkeling, diving, sailing, fishing, and wildlife adventures. One of the area’s greatest advantages is its proximity to Liberia International Airport (LIR), located only about 25 km away—approximately a 30-minute drive. Guests can often leave the airport and be relaxing at the beach or enjoying a cold drink on the same afternoon. Despite its convenience, Playas del Coco retains a relaxed beach-town feel, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both comfort and authentic Costa Rican experiences year round.

Plane: Most people land at the Liberia Airport (LIR) which is only a short 25 minute drive away Driving: The paved highways are good making the trip from other areas of Costa Rica easy and enjoyable.

Getting Around

A lot of individuals prefer walking everywhere but if you're thinking about exploring beyond the town, it's advisable to consider renting a car or booking a tour with one of the awesome tour companies in town. There's an abundance of beaches and activities located within an hour or two from Coco. You wouldn't want to pass up the chance to experience those exciting adventures. Additionally, street-legal golf carts are available to rent. They provide an excellent means to discover the surrounding neighborhoods of Coco or make your way to Playa Ocotal and the renowned Father Rooster's Restaurant.
