Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood has within a 3 minute drive:
* two outstanding cafes
* a French patisserie
* two shopping complex’s with major supermarkets and stores
* the best takeaway coffee shop
* numerous bakeries
* golf course
* public pool
5 mins walk up the bush track takes you to the local pub and bottle shop.
We are a few minutes drive from an amazing outdoor space which includes a massive children’s park, water play and riverside bbq and grassy areas which are superb to kick the footy around! There is also a bike/scooter/walking path along the river.
Brisbane is a beautiful modern city and our state Queensland has over 300 days of sunshine a year. We are one hour away by car for some of the best beaches in the world, to the North there is the Sunshine Coast with world-famous Noosa and the Australia Zoo (owned by Steve Irwin's family) and Sea Life Centre at Mooloolaba. To the South is the beautiful Gold Coast which is a tourist mecca. Both the North and South Coasts have beautiful mountain hinterlands that are great to explore. Mt Tamborine is located inland of the Gold Coast and has beautiful artisan shops and cafe's and Maleny and Montville are inland of the Sunshine Coast.
In Brisbane there is plenty to see and do from the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (10 min drive from our home), the Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Museum and soon to be finished, a massive new Casino in the city. Brisbane also has its own beach at ‘Southbank’ and those of you with young Bluey fans will recognise some of the locations from the show!
