General overview

Our family cabin is centrally located in the oldest neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe , 10 minute walk to the lake and a short walk to the meadow. We love being able to bike right out of our driveway to forests and beaches. There is so much to do in the area during all 4 seasons. After a full day of all the area has to offer, we enjoy the hot tub or sitting on the front porch or back yard below the pine trees relaxing in the beauty of the area. We are within walking distance to great local restaurants and a few fun bars. We have 7 bedrooms (I has a modular sectional that can be used as abed) and 4 bathrooms including a game room area in the back of the cabin, with 2 bedrooms (before summer, we will be converting the 2 bedrooms into a bunk room with one queen and a set of bunks) and 1 bath(newly remodeled). It's a great place for large or small groups. The space

We have a brand new kitchen that is fully stocked for those who enjoy cooking For entertainment, there are games, books, puzzles, a sit down Ms Pac Man, X-box one, and Wii, a ping pong table, pop a shot and loads of beach gear and snow toys too. We also have 3 smart TV's. For those visiting when there is not snow, we have 2 ebikes and 4 regular bikes you will have access to. We also have 2 stand up paddle boards.

Notes

For our guests who visit Tahoe for the amazing skiing, there are several options for both Epic Pass and Ikon passes. Below are the resorts with distance from the cabin. There are several other ski resorts around the lake but they are not included in either Epic or Ikon passes. Epic Pass: Heavenly 3 miles Northstar 39 miles Kirkwood 33 miles Ikon Pass: Palisades 36 miles

Very safe and walkable with lake and meadow in walking distance. Walking distance to fun local restaurants, ice skating, bowling, beach/swimming, bike trails and more.

Getting to my home

You will need a car to get to our cabin and can fly into Reno (1 hour) or Sacramento (2 hours) or San Francisco area airports (4 hours) SFO is usually the best option for international visitors. Anyone choosing to fly into SFO are from other countries, we advise a first night or 2 enjoyed in San Francisco. If you are visiting during winter months, it is advisable to rent a 4 wheel drive and carry chains depending on the forecast during your stay. Coming from the west side (Sacramento or San Francisco) you go over a 7000 pass that often requires chains to travel during snow storms.

We are an active work-from-home couple with 4 college-age kids who have mostly left the nest. We love to travel and explore new places and we are avid hikers. We would love to welcome you to our family cabin in beautiful Lake Tahoe. The house is located a few blocks from the lake and 3 miles from the world-class skiing at Heavenly Resort. Within an hours drive around the lake you can ski at Palisa des, Northstar or Kirkwood In our area, you'll have access to amazing mountain hikes, beautiful beaches, paddle boarding, biking, golfing, and in the winter skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing, and other snow play. As this is a second home, we are open to any type of exchange.
