General overview
Our home is a Victorian 4 bedroom detached. We love the style of our home and the large garden. The kitchen is a very sociable area and we spend a lot of our time here as a family. We have shops and a bakery and pub within walking distance and bus stops outside the house which will take you into the Reading and further afield. We have lots of space in our home, a play room, a study, a conservatory and a cosy lounge. We have Amazon Prime, Disney and Netflix available on the TV. We are sure you will love staying here.
The space
On our ground floor we have a lounge, study, playroom, kitchen and conservatory with a downstairs toilet and utility room.
On the first floor we have another toilet, family bathroom and 3 bedrooms - one is a kids room with single bed, the next is a kids room with a European sized double bed and then the master bedroom with king sized bed, dressing room and ensuite. We then have a 4th bedroom which is a loft conversion with a double bed.
Guest access
3 floors. As our home is Victorian it does have the odd step between rooms.
Notes
We have a 4 bedroom Victorian home in Reading, Berkshire, UK. We live in village just ten minutes from Reading town so you can get the best of both. Reading to Paddington on the train is 25 minutes or you can get the Elizabeth tube all the way into central London which takes an hour with no changes. We live half an hour's drive from Windsor, 45 minutes from Oxford, just over an hour from beautiful beaches and just over an hour from Bristol and Bath and the Cotswolds and 2 hours to Cardiff so it's a great place to base yourself.
Last year we travelled for a few months and in that time we rented our home on Airbnb so we have plenty of lovely reviews about our house that I can share.

Alexandra and Tom's home is gorgeous. Filled with lovely decor, furnishings and everything you could possibly need.
The house is very spacious. There is a big garden with play equipment and also a playroom if you have children with you.
We found the house very quiet and peaceful. It's not far from the motorway which is convenient for travel.
We were just there for a weekend break and visited Windsor and the local pubs! Would thoroughly recommend.
We had a fantastic stay at Alexandra’s home. The location was perfect – with easy access both to Reading and the surrounding countryside. There was plenty of parking, and the home itself was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the quiet atmosphere made for a restful stay, with no noise from the road. My teenage son and his friends were especially impressed, and couldn’t stop talking about how cool the house was. I highly recommend this home for a family exchange!
We absolutely loved Alexandra's home! We stayed for a little over a week and enjoyed every minute of it. Perfect for families - the toys galore was very much appreciated by my kids and not a minute was spent being bored! Location is perfect for exploring all that England has to offer - from London to forest walks to pubs to pretty much whatever you want! Highly recommended.
A beautiful home with so many doors and rooms to explore! The kids had a great time in the playroom and garden playing with the many toys! The home is perfectly situated for a trip in to Reading town or a train in to London. We visited Wellington country park which is just around the corner one of the days and I would highly recommend it - so many activities for the kids we were there for hours! The home was clean and tidy ready for our arrival 😊
Had the best time at Alexandra’s place! We stayed about a week and would take day trips every day to the different areas like the Cotswolds, Bath, London, Oxford, and Warwick castle. It was a great location to have as a homebase.
We also loved having children’s books to read with our kids and toys and especially loved their conservatory. The sunroom patio in the back of their house. We would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.
Alexandra was very accessible if we had questions and helpful..
Alexandra is friendly and was very easy and quick to communicate with regarding arrival / departure/ house/ places to go.
I found my house as I had left it, clean and tidy. They were the perfect guests and I would not hesitate to have them stay in my home again.
Alexandra and her lovely family stayed at our home for a little under 2 weeks. They took great care of our cats (who needed a de-flee/worm medication!) and our plants, both indoors and in the garden. We only ever communicated online/Whatsapp, but Alexandra was always quick to answer any questions and had offered plenty of great suggestions for activities etc.
Would welcome them back as guests at any time!
Alexandra was lovely to talk to and kept in touch about our cats 😊 she was always on the other end of the phone if we needed anything and setting up the exchange was a breeze. Our home was left tidy and clean. Thank you for the opportunity to swap with you 😊
We did a weekend stay in Sharon's home. It's a lovely space, bedrooms are a great size and we loved having the dining space for the kids to draw and play games. It's in a great location with plenty of things within walking distance and lots of options just a short drive away. Highly recommend.
Sharon was a great guest, she communicated well and left our home clean and tidy. I would recommend her as a guest. It was lovely exchanging with her.
Elizabeth stayed with us on a non-sim stay so we haven't yet visited her home but as a guest she was lovely. She communicated well, kept our home tidy and took care of it. I would recommend her as a guest :)
Elena's home was in a lovely location, a quiet village area but with waterways around and a few restaurants. It was in a great location for us to be able to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Haarlem and Utrecht and then we drove to a number of beaches and lakes on our other days. Elena has plenty of children's toys which our little ones loved and garden toys + trampoline too.
Elena was very easy to talk to and they took great care of our home. They are plant lovers as are we so it was great to know they were at our place making sure the garden and house plants were happy. They kindly left us their museum passes which was a lovely bonus. The house was left clean and tidy, like no one had been there. I would recommend her and her family as guests.
Emma and Family looked after our home really well. It was nice and clean when we arrived home. We are so pleased they enjoyed their stay at our home and would recommend them as guests 😊
Emma's home is equipped with so many toys the kids were very pleased. It's in a good location to explore nearby beaches and our Son Hugo loved his first experience catching crabs at the beachfront.
Stacey and Pace and family were lovely guests. They stayed at our home for a week using a globe. They communicated really well and left the house in a lovely tidy state. We would recommend them to other PLU members and hope they enjoyed their stay :)

This is the master bedroom with king size bed, through the walkway is a large dressing room and bathroom
This is our double bedroom in the loft conversion.
This is our smallest room, it's my daughter's and has a childs single bed in it.
This is a large room with a European double bed (slightly smaller than a standard double bed)
This is the kids play room. It now has a sofa in it too - I need newer photos. We have plenty of toys for your little ones!
This is the family bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower
This is our office downstairs. We also have another desk in the master bedroom dressing area if you need more than one.
This is our conservatory. It has under floor heating for the colder months and typically in the hot months gets a lot of sun which is lovely with the doors wide open
This is our family kitchen. We have a range cooker, air fryer, kitchen aid etc. Dishwasher and fridge freezer and lots of extra bits you would need. Our washing machine and tumble dryer are in a separate utility room.
