General Overview
We live in a lovely coastal home in Central Queensland. Our place has a very 'beachy' feel, and you can walk from the house onto Farnborough beach in about 5 minutes. We're on a hill, and have spectacular sea and beach views from both inside and out on the large deck.
Relax and drink in the views across to a number of Islands, and the sound of the waves is super soothing!
Yeppoon boasts beautiful beaches and a vibrant foreshore area that is perfect for a stroll or relaxation. The free to use infinity lagoon pool adjacent to the beach is amazing!
The town is the primary departure point for trips to the stunning islands of the Great Keppel group and the nearby Great Barrier Reef.
The main street and esplanade are lined with trendy boutiques, surf stores, and numerous restaurants and cafés serving local produce, including seafood, beef, and tropical fruits.
The town features a growing street art scene with murals adorning walls, contributing to its chic coastal vibe.
We're close to the stunning Byfield National Park, which has lots of options for hiking, bicycling, horse riding, fishing and boating.
If sailing is your thing the Keppel Bay Sailing Club is right on the beach in Yeppoon, with lots of opportunities to enjoy sailing on the ocean. They have regular races, regattas and an active social scene in the town.
The Space
There are two floors in the home, you enter thought the front door on the main living level, which has an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is also on this level.
All rooms have ceiling fans and we also have air conditioning throughout. However, we catch lovely sea breezes so rarely need to use these.
Doors lead out from the lounge to the spacious deck, which has comfortable chairs for lounging and a dining table.
Downstairs are the two two double bedrooms, both with queen sized beds. There is a large family bathroom with walk-in shower, and spa bath and a separate toilet. There's also a laundry area. There are sliding doors out to another outdoor seating area on the garden level, with lounge chairs and sea views.
There's a shared swimming pool in our landscaped garden space.
Guest Access
Level throughout on the first floor (main living area) with internal stairs down to lower level (8+8).
We have parking directly outside the house, and an attached double garage.

Seeking globes to help us with our future travel plans.
Happy also to arrange non-sim exchanges, as we're often away travelling.

We absolutely loved Geraldine and Terry’s home in beautiful Yeppoon! We had the most fabulous time exploring this absolutely beautiful area and couldn’t help ourselves … and jumped on the ferry several times to swim with the turtles at Great Keppel Island!!! What an unforgettable experience.!!! Geraldine and Terry’s home was perfect for a quintessential beach holiday! The views are second to none and we felt so happy and relaxed there! We especially loved how cozy and welcoming their home felt, with all of Geraldine’s thoughtful and lovely home touches. And it was clear and lovely that they’d gone to a lot of trouble to organise their home especially for the exchange! So thoughtful and kind! We felt truly special to have had the chance to experience such an awesome holiday, and we would absolutely love to return! Geraldine was an absolute delight to communicate with! We really did love everything about this exchange! And we can’t recommend this beautiful part of Queensland and their home highly enough! Thank you Geraldine and Terry!
Thankyou so much Genny & Wayne! We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay here, and would welcome you back anytime. Thankyou for being such amazing, thoughtful & excellent guests, and hope we may get to meet ftf next time! x
A slice of paradise!
You wont want to leave the home it’s so lovely and the tropical oasis yard with a pool is magical. There are are so many lovely spaces to lounge, the home is immaculate and so functional.
Geraldine and Terry are so welcoming and Thornlands and the surrounding areas have so much to offer.
Genny and Wayne were amazing guests on our exchange. Communication was perfect from the start and always very friendly and approachable. We returned to a beautifully clean and tidy home, and some thoughtful gifts. We'd love to welcome them again anytime, and hope we may have the opportunity to meet face to face at some point in the future.
We felt so lucky to have Mel, Mike and Brody as our first ever PLU guests. Communication was excellent from the out-set, and they were very respectful and caring of our home. When we returned it was sparkling clean, they had left a gorgeous platter and treats in the fridge and even mowed the lawn! Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to meet face to face this time, but look forward to our future visit to their home in Canada, and the opportunity to meet there. Thankyou so much! x

Geraldine & Terry
Hi there! We are Geraldine & Terry, a retired couple, originally from the UK, and recently moved from Brisbane to our beach house in Yeppoon. After the busyness of Brisbane, we're loving the laid back coastal vibe here, and I'm sure you will too! We're interested in longer exchanges particularly, and generally have the freedom to travel at anytime. It will usually be just the two of us, but occasionally may be with close family, but we'd always check that this would be OK prior to an exchange. We would be very respectful of your home, and ensure everything is well cared for, and leave it neat, clean and tidy,
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
