Neighbourhood
Te Anau is an aesthetically pleasing township of a permanent residence of 4000. Very safe and friendly. House is private with plenty of off street parking.
When we decided that NZ was gonna be our next big trip, Ibnew for sure that Fiordland National Park would be a must see place to visit.
It turned out thst there is only one listing in Te Anau, so Lisa was the obviously person to contact.
Lisa didn't expect ever to make it to Denmark so we ended up agreeing ths the got my globe for a weeks stay in her second home in Te Anau.
As out travel plans had changed a bit since our original contact we were only staying at Lisas place for 4 nights and not a week. Lisa kindly offered we could stay an extra night at the end of our exchange and I wish we could have accepted it.
We were lucky to meet Lisa upon our serival and she gave us a quick intro to the home and we had a nice chat before she left.
Lisa's home is perfectly situated for a stay in Te Anau. You in easy walking distance of the lake front, shops and anything you might need.
Te Anaunis small and obviously lots of tourists like us, but it was a good time as not thst big crowds.
The home had everything we needed and we cooked home every night and chilling at home either on the patio or in the cosy lounge.
It was a great base for our visit in Fiordland and we did the early morning cruise on Doubtful Sound - stunning!
We also hiked the Lady amarian Trail, Knobs Flat Fall and did a part of Kepler Track from Rainbow Reach to Shallow Bay Hut.
We were ever so lucky with the weather considered how much it rains in the area (approx. 200 days a year).
We had lovely warm weather all days and didn't see rain until we left Te Anau headed to our next exchange
Lisa was a delight to communicate with and I can highly recommend her home if you wanna add a stay in Te Anau 😊
Thank you Lisa for the stay and treats and you're welcome in Denmark if you ever make it that far north 😎
Lisa kindly offered a hospitality stay when I discovered that I had made a mistake booking a room the wrong date and reached out for advice. We are really grateful for her kind offer! Te Anau is the gateway to Milford Sound but has more to offer, for example the glowworm caves. The cottage has a good location, walking distance to city center. Lisa was easy to communicate with and too bad that we missed seeing each other in person. Please reach out if you ever travel to Sweden, we would be happy to reciprocate.
Lisa is a wonderful host and her home was perfect for our 4=night stay to explore all the wonderful highlights that Te Anau has to offer .
The home is perfectly located in town ; a 5 minute walk to the lakes edge and thru the park to the centre of the town shopping district and all the restaurants and supermarkets as needed.
The home was well supplied with everything needed to relax and enjoy our stay , the main bed was very comfortable.
We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay and enjoy the sights and Lisa is happy to supply ideas for the best companies to take you to these locations ; ie ; Milford sounds ; Doubtful sounds , glowworms , ect .
Thanks Lisa
This was my second exchange with Lisa—just as wonderful as the first one! She is kind and communicative (and funny!). Happy to recommend others to exchange with her.
It was lovely to meet Lisa and Chris. They were great guests who left our unit spotless. If we ever get to NZ (and hopefully will in 2026) then I look forward to catching up with them again.
Thanx out 1ooking after my house. The house is over 100 years old now!
You left the place tidy and clean.
Welcome back any time
Lisa and Ebony (18 yr old daughter) were a delight to have in our home! We hosted while we were home, as a hospitality exchange, and thoroughly enjoyed conversing with them. They were communicative before the visit, neat and clean during their stay (even laundered their sheets and towels before leaving!), and super friendly. We are very much looking forward to visiting them in New Zealand some year!
So pleased I was able to host Veronica and Lief. Easy and fuss free. I was unable to meet them (due to repairs at home) but the left the house immaculate and ready for my next guest. Hope to meet one day and highly recommend as guests.
Thank you Veronica and Lief! x
I just love staying with Krista! So homely and Krista is very helpful. Close to the city and easy commute. I hope to be back yet again.
My first guests and Terry and Megsy made it an awesome experience!
So nice to be able to meet them both and give them a hug. Easy, clean and tidy guests. I hope to see them again.
Absolutely LOVED our time at Zita and Russell's. Such a great spot. We really enjoyed the space. Easy access to the beach, shops etc. Public transport was easy to use and easy access to Australia Zoo and a few minutes to Mooloolaba and Moroochydore. We enjoyed the day trips. Thank you Zita for your amazing hospitality x
A great wee house! An easy few minutes drive from the airport and in the centre of town. Just what we needed after an International flight. Beds were comfy and really enjoyed a big sleep!
Krista was an amazing host. Very kind and very willing to help us with all the local information including how to use the public transport, which was extremely straight forward and easy.
Krista home was beautiful and clean and very we welcoming.
I really enjoyed meeting Krista and look so forward to seeing her again.. somewhere.
