General overview
Salty Acre is a home located on “Little River,” a deep, salt water inlet.
The house is on a private, dead end road, so there is minimal traffic. The house is an open concept, three bedroom, one and a half bath with a very large, wraparound deck, completely furnished and updated. You will have water views from almost every window in the house. There is a small private stone beach if you’d like to cool off with a dip on a hot day. Relax or fish from a a 10 x 20’ dock. And Boothbay Harbor is about a 8 minute drive
The space
Oceanside home
Located on a secluded oceanfront acre. Open concept with ocean views from almost every window.. Furnished large wraparound deck with water views, great for outdoor dining or having a lobster boil. Walk to waters edge or your private dock and watch the osprey and bald eagles overhead, or the occasional seal. Try fishing for stripers swimming beneath our 20’ dock off our 40 foot private pier.
Private stony beach most of Maine does not have sandy beaches but it’s a nice area to swim if your brave enough for the cold Atlantic water, 2 double kayaks and 1 single kayak plus yard games.
Perennial gardens.
Across the road is Little River Dam, the start of a spectacular 2+ mile surfside loop walk. There are several restaurants within a couple of minutes, and Boothbay Harbor is approximately eight minutes away. East Boothbay is considered the quieter part of town with beautiful ocean views, and a bit less hectic than the harbor.

The house does not have air-conditioning, but it is really not needed where the house is located. We are on a peninsula out on a peninsula, practically surrounded by cool north Atlantic water.
And in the summer the breeze is almost always off the water, cooling the nights down nicely.
We also have window fans available in the house.
Pet friendly home with ample room.
We have a strict no smoking policy on the property .
There are 2 security cameras one located on driveway and other down by water.
There is a maximum of 6 guests allowed at the house any additional guest need to be approved by owner even if they are not staying overnight.
We also need your pet information when you make your reservation like what breed of dog they are and their weight.

We are a semi retired couple that enjoy traveling. Being empty nesters now, we are usually traveling just the 2 of us, but love it when our adult kids join us.
Would like to work out a trip to Scotland and Ireland within the next year.Also interested in doing a west coast trip maybe to Napa Valley and Oregon coast. But we are open to almost any travel.
We are members of another home exchange site and have one exchange planned, but are new to the home exchange idea itself.
We do rent out our second oceanside home, located in Boothbay Maine, which helps fund our travels.
Very intrigued by this home exchange idea.
