General overview
We love our 3-bedroom home, which backs onto a greenbelt and is right beside a beautiful bike path. There are playgrounds nearby, and grocery stores and restaurants are a quick drive or a nice bike ride away. Our friendly little community is just a 45-minute drive from Vancouver, or take our commuter train (the West Coast Express) during the week for an easy trip into town.
The space
The main living area is upstairs. There is a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and ensuite. The 2nd bedroom has triple bunk beds - only suitable for kids (maybe teenagers too). The 3rd bedroom is a playroom but we have some great cushions that would be comfortable for sleeping if more space is needed.
Downstairs is the entryway and an office with two desks. Great set up for remote workers!
Guest access
Guests have access to the main parts of the house. The basement has been rented to someone who runs a daycare Mon-Fri from 8:30am-5pm. During this time she also has exclusive access to the backyard, which is open to guests when she is closed. For outside time we have a large rooftop deck you can use anytime.
The daycare kids nap for roughly 2 hours between 1-4pm each week day so it’s asked that noise be kept to a minimum.
Notes
My parents live in the garden suite in the backyard. The roof top deck is accessible to you but it is asked that you keep the noise down after 10pm if they are home. The deck is awesome for BBQs and chilling in the sun.

Neighbourhood
We are centrally located to so many great areas! There are trails, mountains, beaches, and Vancouver all within 1 hour from here (or closer).
We are roughly 2 hours from Seattle, or 3 hours from Whistler if you wanted to do a long day trip.
Here is a good place to start when looking into what Pitt Meadows has to offer:

Getting to my home
From the airport you can take an Uber, or skytrain most of the way and then Uber/Taxi from there.
We do have a community bus stop outside our house which is great for exploring purposes but doesn’t run frequently enough to make it easy to catch with luggage / from the airport.
Nearest airport
YVR is roughly 45 minutes by car.
Getting around
The community bus will take you right to the commuter train which goes into Vancouver in the morning Mon-Fri and comes back in the afternoon. This is called the West Coast Express.
We potentially could do a car swap also. There are shops / restaurants a bike ride away or roughly a 30-minute walk. We have two adult sized bikes, and 3 kid bikes that can be used.
We live right beside a bike trail that leads to a playground, and down to a beautiful area called Osprey Village.

We are a family of 5! Ryan (Australian) and Christie (Canadian), have three kiddos Gavin, and twins Zoe & Carter.
We are avid travelers and have both spent time living in multiple different countries. Our kids have traveled a fair bit too and have been bitten by the travel bug.
We have yet to exchange houses, but both of us were active Couchsurfers and hosted/visited many people - we even met through Couchsurfing!
We are a bit limited to school holidays (although I don't mind a week outside of the holidays here and there), and are really open to destinations - especially with a less than 10 hour flight :)
If space & schedules allow, sometimes we will bring Christie's parents Jim & Leslie .
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
