General overview
We are walking and biking distance to tons of restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, the downtown pedestrian mall, and the University of Virginia.
Our home is surrounded by gardens, has a flagstone back patio for grilling or sipping a beverage under the twinkle lights, and a sunny front porch with rocking chairs.
The space
We have an open floor plan on the first floor with a renovated kitchen containing a farm table that seats 8. We have a gas burning fireplace, smart tv, a half bath, and a piano keyboard you're welcome to play in the living room.
The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and an attached bath. Bedroom 2 has a twin-sized trundle bed plus a closet sleeping loft for kids under 48" tall. This loft space connects to the 3rd bedroom closet's sleeping loft through a secret crawl-through door in the wall. This room contains a full size bed. All three rooms have room darkening blinds/curtains.
The 3rd floor is an open space with skylights, an office space, toy shelves, and twin size bed. We also have 2 twin sized 6" thick foldable sleeping pads you're welcome to use, since we only have enough beds to accommodate 6, but with the use of the sleeping lofts or the portable sleeping pads, could sleep 8.
Guest access
There are 5 steps to enter the front door, and 3 floors with stairs. Front door opens with a passcode.
Notes
*Easily access UVA sporting events using the free UVA transit system with a bus stop less than a quarter mile down the road.
*There's a City Farmers Market on Saturday mornings that's a mile away from our house.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is a delight to drive through- just 22 houses painted all colors of the rainbow, all with front porches and white picket fences. Neighbors are friendly and mostly UVA professors and Hospital employees. We are tucked away off a main road towards the downtown pedestrian mall in one direction and a 1 mile straight shot towards the UVA Rotunda in the other direction. Walk a tenth of a mile through a neighborhood cut-through trail to Washington Park playgrounds.
Getting to my home
We are 1 mile from the Amtrak Station, and 8 miles (18 min drive) from the Charlottesville airport. Our family usually flies in and out of the Richmond airport 1 hour away because prices are cheaper. Alternatively you could fly into Washington DC which is 2 hours away, see the sights, and then take the Amtrak into Charlottesville from Union Station, which is actually faster than driving a car to and from the Nation's Capital! :-)

Charlottesville Airport is 8 miles away, Richmond Airport is 78 miles away.
Getting around
There's a city bus stop at the top of our street, free University Transit bus stop less than a quarter mile down the street, and you're welcome to borrow bikes with advance request as well. We have space in our driveway for 2-3 cars.
There are several grocery store options within a mile of the house.
