Our home is located in a beautiful, very connected neighborhood. It is walking distance to the wharf, grocery shopping, coffee shops, museums, and restaurants.
Our family loves hiking and camping in the mountains in the summer and skiing in the winter.
Ideally, we are looking for longer exchanges (several months). However, in the summer months, we would be interested in shorter stays.
The space
Our house has two bedrooms, the first with a full size bed. This bedroom also includes a desk and extra monitor for working from home. Our daughter's room has a twin size bed with trundle underneath.
The living room is cozy with lots of plants and kid's toys. There is one bathroom, located in the ground floor.
The kitchen is small but well equipped and recently renovated. It has an induction cooktop. The only thing notable that it does not have is a microwave.
Guest access
Our house is two floors, with the main living area downstairs and both bedrooms upstairs. It was built in the 1930s, which means that the staircase is a bit steeper than modern day ones. Also, our neighborhood is up a hill so it is not accessible for those who have a hard time walking.
Notes
We do have 5 ducks that will stay while we travel. Ideally, exchangers will be willing to feed them and let them into their coop. Fresh eggs would be available in this scenario. However, if this is not possible, we can make arrangements with the neighbor.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is tucked into the downtown area. A small park is less than a block away and a larger one is 4 blocks away. Hiking trails are also just a short walk away. There is a natural foods store a few blocks away and a larger grocery store less than a mile walk.
Getting to my home
Juneau can only be accessed by plane or boat. Alaska Airlines has several flights a day from Anchorage and Seattle. Our home is a 15 min car ride or taxi from the airport.

Getting around
Everything you need is within walking distance. If you wish to visit the ski hill or farther out hiking trails, it will be easiest to have a car, although public transportation can get you there, although the buses are not always on a convenient schedule. We have an electric cargo bike that can fit one to two small children on the back that can be loaned out if discussed first.

Amie
We are a family of three (myself Amie, my partner Liam, and our 5 year old daughter Liesel. We live in Juneau Alaska but are looking to stay abroad for an extended time during our daughter's kindergarden year. We love hiking and being out in nature, as well as cross country skiing.
