When we are in town we have available our basement area that has lots of natural light. There is a private room with a queen bed and an open area with a twin bed and a king bed. There is a private bathroom in basement with large shower. The washing and drier are in basement but we would only used them if needed at appropriate times. You would be welcome to use all the main floor which is open concept with big family room, kitchen, another complete washroom and dining area.
The Space
We have direct access to Colonel Samuel Park from our backyard, for me one of the best hidden gems in Toronto. CSP is located on shores of Lake Ontario and bordering southern campus of Humber College with it's unbelievable gorgeous Victorian buildings . This park attracts everybody who loves nature, trees, waters, birds and superb views of the lake and downtown Toronto. There is also a figure 8 skating rink in winter and you can watch people kitesurfing in the summer.
We are also 3 minutes walking to Lakeshore Blvd W. with 24 hour Rabba Fine Foods, famous Tim Hortons and plenty of restaurants (Indian, Italian, Japanese, Argentinian, Polish, Jamaican, our favourite Thai restaurant, etc). You are walking distance to shops, pharmacies, banks, cafes and health services. I could give you great recommendations.
Notes
We are a friendly and easy going family. We have three kids, grandma, two cats and a low shedding dog named Waffles. We have experience hosting and being hosted by families through Couchsurfing and recently through HE. Our home is ideal for another family or couple who would like to explore Toronto during the day and socialize with a local family after but with enough privacy to recharge by yourself when needed. It would not be a good match for people who would be going out late on a regular bases or are not interested to socialize at all because we would be sharing main floor area. We have travel to 20 countries as a family and we realize our top experiences are usually related with the people we meet rather than the places we see. For our kids staying with a family in New Zealand was a more memorable experience than visiting Macchu Picchu!
