We live in a friendly and quiet neighborhood on 1.5 acres with lots of mature trees. We live 25 minutes outside of the city of Richmond. It is a great urban outdoor area. There is a park with access to the James River about a mile from our house, and we love to go there for picnics, swimming and to watch the sun set. Our area is a great jumping off point for lots of adventure depending on what you seek. We are 2 hours from Washington DC, two hours from Virginia Beach, and less than 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachian Trail.
The space
Our home has 3 floors. The main floor has the kitchen, dining room, living room with piano, and family room with a fireplace and space for movie watching. There is also a large sun room and breakfast nook located on the first floor.
The second floor has 4 bedrooms and a playroom over the garage with its own separate stairway to access. This floor also has a full bath with a shower/tub combo. The master bedroom has a master bath with shower.
Our 3rd floor offers an additional guest room with a full bath and walk in closet, and doubles as our home office. There is a garage with bikes, balls, camp chairs, and lots of other random things often found in garages.
There is a large deck off of the sunroom on the back of the house that has a table and grill for outdoor meals. Also in the back yard you will find a trampoline, basketball hoop and a treehouse.
Guest access
We have a small neighborhood lake that is great for sunbathing on the sand, swimming, fishing and canoeing. Guests will have access to the use of our passes if you choose to use the lake.
Notes
Please use caution if you choose to access the tree house. It utilizes a rope ladder and hatch to get in and out.
We also have chickens on the property. They would not need any care, though they will happily provide you with fresh eggs daily.

We like to travel around the USA as well as abroad when we have the opportunity. We are planning to begin more extensive travel outside of the US in the near future.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet.
