General Overview
We love the nature and peaceful setting of our 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom one-level home on the Tennessee river (home sleeps 8).
We enjoy fishing, kayaking, roasting marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit under the stars, and the pretty sunsets over the river. It’s a lovely relaxing place away from the hustle bustle of the city. Makes for great family memories. Also good for remote workers.
Two kayaks and two paddle boards with life vests are available for use. During the summer months, you can launch the kayaks right from our private dock. During off season the water levels drop at the dock (September - March), but you can take the kayaks into the TN River by a public ramp five minutes away where the water is still deep.
DAY TRIPS. If you like getting out, there is a fun drive- thru Safari where you can feed animals from your car (Tennesse Safari Park) an hour away, Loretta Lynn’s ranch & museum is 40 minutes away (check their website for annual events - live music, trail rides etc), Downtown Nashville is 1 hour 20 minutes away, and Memphis - home of Elvis's home is two hours away. You will need a car for these day trips.
This is our second home (vacation home) which provides flexibility for our available dates. We have done one home exchange here and it was a great experience. (Our guests via VRBO/Airbnb have given us 5-star reviews).

Neighbourhood
Quiet and friendly fishing community. Most people have cabins for weekend river relaxing. Friendly neighbors at the top of the hill if you need anything.
Getting to my home
You definitely need a car to get around if you want to leave the home. **We might be able to lend you our car.
Nearest airport
Nearest airport is in Nashville which is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away. We live near the Nashville airport (BNA) so we would be open to picking you up at airport and lending our car to going to the house. And potentially open if you wanted a night in our home in Nashville if the dates worked out.
Getting Around
Town is about 10-15 minutes away with some restaurants and shops. You will want a car to get about, especially for day trips.

This is a beautiful, comfortable home where families can enjoy peace, quiet and nature. There is a small town about 10 minutes down the road that has grocery stores and some really good restaurants. We loved our stay here.
Thank you Susan. I really enjoyed my first exchange with you!
Petchell and her family were wonderful guests! We had a video call prior to our exchange and communicated throughout. They left our home very clean and even washed our sheets! We would welcome them back anytime.
The home is newly renovated and furnished- an absolutely beautiful spot in the mountains. Every detail of comfort was available for our family of five and dog. We visited at the end of the summer and enjoyed the local restaurants and white water rafting. Susan was very easy to communicate with. It was enjoyable to get to know her through this process.
So glad you had a good time! Thanks for everything!
Susan and her family left our home impeccable and was a lovely guest. I’m glad to welcome her back anytime.
Thanks Petchell!

Hi! We’re excited to talk to you about exchanging homes! We have a waterfront home on the Tennessee River in the western part of TN, USA. It's our getaway second home which is wonderful for relaxing in nature away from the hustle bustle of city life. We are located between Nashville (downtown Nashville is one hour twenty minutes away) and two hours from Memphis (Graceland, Beale Street, Memphis Zoo). If you are traveling with your car through the southern states, this is great central stop-over location!
We are a family of five with our kids ages are 17, 16, 13. We love nature and adventure: hiking in waterfalls, mountain biking, white water rafting, beaches and lakes. Before kids, my husband and I loved travel (he's been to China and Nepal and loves our national parks, and I have been to England, India, and Botswana). We love to be able to have travel experiences and adventures as a family.
We can only travel around the kids' school calendar (Spring break, October fall break, December holidays, end of June/1st week of July). Exchanges do not need to be simultaneous as the TN River house is a second home.
"I went here for my honeymoon 16 years ago and would love to take our family to see this amazing country."
