Neighbourhood
Our home is located in Creston, BC population 5000, https://www.explorecrestonvalley.com/
We have lived in this area for twenty five years so can give recommendations as needed depending on your interests. We have friendly neighbours who are also long term residents of the valley.
You can walk to all amenities in around ten minutes. There is a cinema, recreation complex with swimming pool, gym and skating rink, two grocery stores, numerous restaurants and cafes and much more.
There are 3 local wineries and the Kokanee brewery to visit. Many people visit the area to boat, fish, bird watch, golf, camp, hike, bike or just to relax.
There is a weekly farmers market that has lots of wonderful treats and produce. Creston is home to many orchards so depending on the time of year there are fruit stands selling local produce.
Kootenay Lake is around a 30 minute drive and is one of the largest lakes in British Columbia at around a 100 km long. Perfect for relaxing at a sandy beach (as it is so large temps can be refreshing!) kayaking, fishing or boating, we have a small boat and would be happy to take you out if we can coordinate timing. Duck Lake is closer and is a small local lake, good for kayaking and in the winter ice fishing and skating.
Nearest airport
Cranbrook, BC 1 1/2 hours.
Getting Around
