Our house is the best of both worlds: in a quiet little pocket of LA, but close enough to most of the things that make LA a top vacation destination. Our house provides an indoor/outdoor lifestyle where you can relax outside and pick fresh oranges and grapefruits in your bare feet for breakfast. We cook a lot and have a very nice kitchen with all sorts of gadgets and love eating our meals outside in our very private backyard. We recently added a new rain-shower bathroom to the primary suite and it's been a great addition. Parking in the driveway and easy access to major freeways that get you to other parts of LA. Nearby hiking trails, a great place for coffee/breakfast/lunch that's a short walk. Also a short walk to a great park with various structures for the kids (my son loved it from 5-12) and a well-stocked local library. Farmers markets are a short drive on Saturday and Sunday, allowing us to stock up on the bounty of Southern California.
The space
Bungalow-style fully furnished house with wooden shutters and a very private backyard complete with a gas grill and several different pieces of outdoor furniture (a sofa, hammock and dining area) to guarantee your maximum outdoor enjoyment. The primary bedroom has a queen-sized bed, walk-in closet and small sofa for sitting with direct access to the backyard and an en-suite bathroom with a rain-shower shower. There's also an exercise bike. Second bedroom has a full-sized bed and a door leading to the backyard. The third bedroom is set up as an office, since we both work remotely, but it also has a futon that converts to a full-sized bed.
Guest access
Four stairs to access front door. Two steps to access patio and another 5 steps to access grassy terrace of backyard.
Access to the house is via the August app.
Notes
We love this area because it offers some of the best that LA has to offer: easy access to major sites without all of the noise and craziness and traffic associated with other parts of LA.

I'm a native New Yorker who moved to LA about 10 years ago. We have just returned to LA after spending a year in Paris. While I've always loved to travel, our year in Paris (and its generous school vacation schedule) really allowed us to explore many places in Europe. Now that we're back in LA, we are limited to the much less generous US school vacation schedule because our son just started high school.
