General Overview

Our house is a renovated 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home set in a beautiful large tropical private, garden. We are a 1-2 min walk to the Rainbow Falls Waterfall and it’s walking/jogging track to either enjoy a swim in the summer months or enjoy a daily forest walk along the stream which leads down to the famous Stone Store and the award winning Honey Pot Cafe to enjoy a coffee or lunch. There you will also find The Plough & Feather which offers indoor dining or alfresco pizza on the Kerikeri inlet. The main bedroom has a en-suite with a brand new king size bed with luxury linen and sliding doors out onto the garden. At the opposite end of the house is a self contained large bedroom with a brand new king size bed with a wooden deck table and chairs and it’s own entrance. This is great for a couple/adult as it has a small fridge, toaster, coffee/tea making facilities. It has a en-suite shower/toilet, tv. The 3rd bedroom has a king single. The 4th bedroom is currently used as a tv/games room and has a brand new king size sofa bed. The house has been recently renovated with new kitchen, appliances, carpet, beds, linen and furniture. There are 2 outdoor living areas including a new Weber BBQ. My mother lives on-site in a separate dwelling which does not interfere with the privacy of the main house.

The Space

The house has a very resort like sub tropical feel with a relaxing, peaceful and quiet environment to enjoy life in Kerikeri & Northland. We have new smart tvs with Sky Tv, Sky Sports, Netflix, Disney. There are 3 tvs. The family bathroom has a bath & shower. There is a seperate toilet. Both en-suites have showers & toilets. We have paddle boards and 2 brand new fishing kayaks to enjoy. There is a casual paddle boarding club who meet at the Stone Store.

Neighbourhood

We are very close to all the amenities of Kerikeri & Waipapa for restaurants/cafes, supermarkets etc, It is a great base to explore all the areas in different directions - Paihia & Russell, Kerikeri, all the incredible beaches of Northland, the West Coast, the Tutukaka Coast and up to Cape Reinga. We have local wineries such as Marsden & Kainui, plus Ake Ake for lunch & events. There are wonderful golf courses in the area at Kerikeri, Waitangi & Kauri Cliffs. Waitangi has a fantastic mountain bike park. We are close to the tennis/pickleball courts and Northland has many great coastal hiking trails to explore. We also have several options such as a small country, private school called Springbank which offers the Cambridge Curriculum or Griffin Academy which offers a home schooling environment with Olympic level gymnastics/trampoline training.

Getting to my home

We are a 5 min drive from the Bay of Islands airport. The flight from Auckland to the Bay of Islands is a scenic 35 min flight or if you prefer you can drive 3 half hours from Auckland.

We are 2 semi-retired adults who work in property management remotely and own several rental properties so we are very respectful and mindful of other people’s homes. We have an 11 year old son who is a keen skier and surfer. We are therefore flexible and are always keen to swap to destinations for surfing or skiing. We are also open to longer term exchanges. We are open to all enquiries, particularly those in a surf or ski location. We don’t have any pets, but we would be delighted to look after dogs & cats.. We have completed 4 wonderful exchanges (we are also on Home Exchange website) and have to further exchanges finalised, so we are keen to continue as they were all fantastic experiences.
