General overview

The home is a spacious, family-friendly house only 45 miles southwest of Denver on a forested acre surrounded by ponderosa pines and aspen trees. We are situated in a private, quiet mountain neighborhood providing a place for peace and relaxation. The house is 10 minutes from Highway 285 providing convenient access to front range cities such as Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs as well as ventures deeper into the mountains. The house sits at 8,750 feet of altitude and provides beautiful star gazing. The immediate area abounds with wildlife such as deer, elk, fox, moose, bear, and mountain birds. The location provides a convenient hub for the outdoor adventurer. Within a 15-mile radius lie several parks including Staunton State Park, Wellington Lake recreation area, hiking trails, fishing, and camping. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is 30 miles away. The house is 1.5 hours to many ski resorts, white water rafting, and hot springs, and 2 hours from Rocky Mountain National Park and 3 hours from Great Sand Dunes National Park!

The space

Upper Level: 2 bedrooms both with king-sized beds and a shared bathroom. The master bedroom has pocket door access to the bathroom (walk-in shower). The kitchen, dining area, living room with wood burning stove, and deck (with an 8 person dining table) are on the upper level. Lower Level: 2 bedrooms both with queen-sized beds. One of the bedrooms has an exterior door. There is an entrance/mudroom, tv room, hallway full bath, office, and laundry/utility room.

Guest access

Accessibility: The main level of the house is on the 2nd floor. There is a narrow stairwell with a railing for support. There is also an outdoor staircase to the deck with access to the upstairs living room door and access to the dining area door. We also have a bariatric/geriatric shower seat. The upstairs shower is a walk-in. Parking: Our driveway has parking space for up to 4 cars. Street parking is not permitted. Internet speed: 55 Mbps (we are in a rural, mountainous area). The speed is sufficient to stream a movie or conduct Zoom calls.

Notes

Pets: We do not allow any animals due to severe allergies/asthma. Outdoors: Our house is in Rocky Mountain fire country. The county maintains strict laws against any outdoor ember-producing fire.
