Meet for a drink or show around my home in case they are interested next time.
Our experience in New Orleans was incredible, and Miss Shu and Coach Lei played a huge part in that.
They did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and right at home. The house and the garden are beautiful. We shared great moments together that we will never forget.
Shu and Lei introduced us to the neighborhood, and that changed everything; we weren't just tourists, we were part of the community.
We were delighted to share these moments with them before they left for our home in France.
New Orleans is a magical city where you meet so many people because everyone is so welcoming. We were able to enjoy many festivals, taste great food (like crawfishs for exemple 😊) and listen to a lot of music.
This was our first exchange on PLU, and we are truly thrilled and happy.
Jay and I were so excited to be able to return to New Orleans and use Shu and Lei’s house as a base. We were able to bring our dog Chloe and enjoyed exploring Shu’s beautiful garden and the golf course behind the house. We also loved playing pool in the dining room! The bed was comfy and the house clean.
Gretna is a great location for exploring New Orleans, as it is only 15 minutes or less by car to the French Quarter, Uptown, Magazine and Midcity. We were able to hit all of our favorite restaurants and parking was easily found everywhere we went. City park has always been one of our favorite places, and we spent a lot of time walking and enjoying the botanical garden and a newly discovered forest!
Thanks Shu and Lei for sharing your home with us! We hope to meet you both one day soon!
We LOVED our time with Shu and coach Thunder. This was our first experience with a host exchange. They have set a very high bar. Their kindness and generosity was so deeply appreciated and we felt so welcome in their home. Their home is roomy and comfortable with a beautiful backyard garden and is in an area that feels safe and is within a short drive to all the fun of New Orleans. I’ve heard others say they have made new friends during host exchanges. That has certainly been our experience. We are looking forward to their visit to Truckee, hopefully next summer.
Unfortunately this exchange never happened as our hostess tested positive for Covid a few days before we were due to arrive. Being in a high risk group (although fully vaccinated) we opted to stay in a New Orleans hotel instead.
Although sorry not to have met the generous family that offered to host us with nothing definitely arranged in return, we enjoyed New Orleans despite the setback and wish them a speedy recovery.
Shu and Lei stayed only a couple of days in our house, and they were the perfect guests. There were hardly any traces of their using the house, as they left the house in perfect state. They seem to be exceptionally considerate persons, I sincerely thank them for their sense of community. They took excellent care of our cat Josephine as well as of our garden, Shu is obviously an expert in this matter! Too bad we didn't meet, maybe another time!
To sum up, I highly recommend an exchange with them, they have the ideal PLU mindset.
Miss Shu and Coach Lei are very mindful guests. They took great care of our home. When we returned, we were pleasantly surprised to find that they had gifted us a plant. They are lovely and charming guests.
Shu and her husband were the absolute perfect guests! I was lucky to be able to meet them and chat with them, and this is what home exchanging is all about -- meeting new people and making connections. They left my apartment spotless, and even left me the most thoughtful little gifts as a thank-you. I would host them any time.

Shu and her family were wonderful guests! I appreciated the communication before and during their stay. Shu went the extra mile to care for our pets and many plants. They left the house in great shape and even started the laundry. Most importantly, they are wonderful people! This is why we home swap!
Feedback for Yvonne.·Non-Reciprocal exchange·3 nights
Yvonne's apartment is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. A big mall is down the street accessible by bus. The apartment is roomy and comfortable. Yvonne is a very accommodating host and always promptly answers my questions. We enjoyed our stay.
We LOVED Sylvie and Pascal's place! It is right in the city and we could walk to all the sightseeing spots and market. They left detailed instructions guides and arranged neighbors to take care of us. The neighbors are truly helpful!
Sylvie is so warm and caring. She sent messages before our arrival and gave us lots of tips. When we got there, we found out she prepared wine, hand picked delicious strawberries and treats for us. The house is nice and quiet. Her garden is beautiful with gorgeous roses blooming all over the garden.
Before we left, She even reached out to the farmer to make sure I get more strawberries since I loved it so much! Sylvie is truly the best host! We enjoyed our time in the Loire Valley and the city of Tours.
Thank you so much Shu for your most warmhearted words. I’m glad you enjoyed a little of what our house and Tours have to offer. Please come again, we loved having you in our home and Josephine 🐈⬛ misses you already.
This is our first overseas exchange and it couldn't be better! Caroline and Cedric aligned a whole support team for us before we arrive. There were neighbors who went to open windows for us before we arrive so the house would have fresh air. There were friends who would send us hiking tips. Caroline and Cedric made videos and wrote detailed instructions to make sure we have an easy and smooth transition. When we arrived, there were wine, treats, and Foie gras on the table waiting for us to enjoy. 😊
Their house is located on a hill with beautiful views. It is nice, comfy and roomy and I loved their big sunroom! The Proissans area is simply gorgeous with hills, valleys, gardens and castles. We enjoyed the hiking among the hills a lot! Sarlat is only a few minutes away and we went to every Saturday and Wednesday market to get delicious food and fresh vegetables and fruits.
We were also able to visit nearby cities such as Biarritz, Bordeaux, and Tours. This was the best vacation we ever had! Thanks to Caroline and Cedric's invitation!!
Cedric, Caroline and their son Romeo became members of our family right after they arrived! Due to my work schedule change, we had to shorten our trip and as a result, they had to share the house with us for three weeks. We felt very guilty and nervous but they were so gracious and flexible. We became friends and family instantly. During our time together we enjoyed long conversations, outings together and fun game nights. We also cooked dinner together a couple of times and shared our food and recipes. Sunday crawfish became our tradition! We also enjoyed making gumbo and dumplings together. We really had a wonderful time living together!
After we went to their house, they took good care of our house and garden. When we came home, we found the house cleaner and tidier than ever! Caroline even made a bouquet of fresh flowers from the garden to welcome us back home. There was also a beautiful fruit salad arrangement in the fridge! We have never felt so welcomed in our own home! We miss them dearly!
Feedback for Amy and Jay·Non-Reciprocal exchange·3 nights
Amy and Jay are great guests! They communicated well throughout the exchange and were so nice to take care of my plants when they were staying. I couldn't tell that they were here as everything was the same if not better! We would love to host them again anytime!
Feedback for Sandy & Nancy·Hospitality exchange·8 nights
This is our first part of our hospitality exchange. Sandy and Nancy are just awesome! Even though we have never met before, it feels like long lost friends. We had some nice long conversations and shared life experiences. We enjoyed their stay so much that we have scheduled our next exchange! We look forward to visit them in California soon!!
Feedback for Gina·Non-Reciprocal exchange·8 nights
Gina's home in Orlando is beautiful and serene. I cannot believe this is right outside of a busy city. It feels like deep in the woods. You can see wild animals every day. Their alpacas are super cute! The house is very nice and comfortable. Gina is super accommodating and supportive. We had a wonderful stay!
Peter and Teodora are very patient and communicative. We had planned this exchange for almost a year and the last minute I had COVID. They had to book a hotel instead. I felt deeply sorry and disappointed but they were so gracious and understanding. I hope one day we can do a real exchange.
Feedback for Karen·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Karen's apartment is amazing! Spacious and comfortable. It is minutes away from all the places we need to visit. There are shops and restaurants nearby.
Karen is awesome! She checked in with us in advance and gave us very detailed directions and local tips. We were like old friends minutes after we met.
I am looking forward to hosting her in New Orleans soon!!
Feedback for Andie·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
Andie's house is just gorgeous! I loved her beautiful decorations. The house is cozy and extremely clean and tidy. She definitely inspired me to de-clutter more at my house. LOL.
Her house is right in the middle of the city and minutes away from everything. The city of Wilmington, NC is great! The beaches are so beautiful. If you want to collect the shells, go up to the north side of Wrightsville beach. The food is delicious yet so reasonably priced. (We appreciated it even more after we went down to Charleston).
This is my first exchange and it could not be better. I also want to share my first experience of taking care of animals. I never had pets, but Andie wrote extensive, detailed instructions about how to take care of them. I fed rabbits, chickens and cats. I got freaked out when one cat sneaked out but they came back in the evenings. It first appeared to be daunting and I read the pages of instructions several times. However, once you get the routine going, it is super easy. I now gained lots of confidence taking care of pets!
I am totally hooked with house swap from now on, thanks to PLU!

Shu & Lei
We are a family of three. My husband and I work in the education field. We love nature and enjoy meeting new people. We would like to visit places with beautiful scenery, hiking trails, canoeing waters, and good food. My wish list for now: any mountain areas, Arkansas around the lakes, California around Bay Area, Europe, Japan, Hawaii. We usually travel as a couple but sometimes our son or in-laws will join us. We will definitely confirm the number of travelers before we swap.
I have a 3000 sqf house with 2 spare bedrooms with their own bathrooms for hospitality exchange (hosting). When we travel during summer or winter, the whole house is available. My husband retired and I work from home, so usually we can swap at any time unless I have local events to attend.
