Communication was always easy with Vanessa and she was always available if we had a question. We appreciate that.
We are thankful for the opportunity to stay at Vanessa and Mstthew's unique home. They have renovated it with love and you can feel like an noble family from years ago. In the fand drawing room, if you wish!
But the home is also cosy and comfortable- we slept really well in the large beds, with no traffic noise.
There are a few bakeries a suoermarket, Cafés and a few restaurants within easy walking distance. We advise having a car however as then you can really discover the area. Most places of interest we chose were 1 to 1,5 hours away, but there are some closer.
Our favourite stops were Rennes Saturday food market and old town, and also the famous Mount Saint Micheal.
Thank you so much for letting us be your first (solo) PLU guests!
We thoroughly enjoyed Vanessa and Matthew’s hospitality and company, not to mention their beautiful maison in Mayenne. The history of the house and surrounding area is fascinating and both Vanessa and Matt are so knowledgeable and keen to share the beauty and experience of living in France. We have made firm friends and look forward to hosting them in Australia in the New Year, À bientôt!
It was so nice to see Vanessa and Matt again, this time returning the favour and hosting them at our place in Kiama. We enjoy their company and value the new friendship we have formed together through PLU. We shared a meal and were really happy that Vanessa and Matt relaxed and enjoyed our cottage, some sunshine, swims, all our beautiful Kiama and south coast has to offer. Safe travels and see you again!
Vanessa and Matt were a pleasure to meet, and carefully looked after our home, our cat and kept the wild birds well fed for 2 weeks. They left fresh clean bed linen for our arrival home after a long day of travel, which was most appreciated. Vanessa and Matt were easy to get along with and we look forward to catching up with them in France later in the year.
We had a wonderful relaxing stay with the lovey Helen and Matt in Kiama NSW. The location is a beautiful coastal fishing village with stunning beaches, harbour abd coats rock pool for public swimming. The historic coastal town is a popular destination for people on holiday from Sydney, with every service, shopping, and all the cafes & delicious restaurants, you could hope for. The 1 bedroom cottage is a perfect couples , stay, generously appointed, with every comfort. Well appointed kitchen & great coffee machine for a morning brew, Tv lounge, laundry, great shower in the en-suite bathroom, and queen size bed. Helen has thought if everything you may need. The cottage is set in a lush garden behind the main house, with private entry, verandahs opening with big sliding doors opening to the garden. The distant sound of the surf crashing on the beach to lol you to sleep. The beach is a 5 min walk from the house, We loved our stay and hope to return.
Thank you Helen and Matt for having us.
It was our pleasure to have you both and return the favour of your wonderful hospitality in your beautiful home in Mayenne. Safe travels and see you again 😊
All we can say is huge thank-you for the amazing stay we had in Nettes beautiful home.
We arrived to a very friendly happy welcome with time to get to know each other, be shown the house and meet fluffy cat Trevor who we so enjoyed looking after. All the information we could need was in a welcome book, and Nette was at the end of the phone when we had a question. We have a spare globe and we would happily stay again.
A resort style stay, in a stunning home set in a tropical rainforest hillside garden, with pool, air conditioning, amazing comfort. The local village of Stamford had everything we needed and we enjoyed the cafes, pub dining, and ice cream, driving the tourist drive through the mountains. If you have an Queensland or Brisbane Nette’s home should be on your list.
Vanessa and Matt
What a fabulous introduction to PLU with our our first guests, Sarah Max and family staying in our home over Christmas. Sarah and her family are regular exchangers that have us reassurance, and Sarah was fablous in communicating. Sarah was also flexible when our WiFi for some reason was not connecting, and really did a fabulous job leaving our big home beautifully. So it's a big thank you for giving us such a positive experience. And we highly recommend you arrange an exchange with Sarah and Max.
Our thanks to Matt and Helen for reaching out to us for a hosted stay. Helen's emails and correspondence were so reassuring as we planned our first PLU experience. We had a wonderful week getting to know each other, a couple of days out expiring a few local highlights, cooking & chatting around the kitchen table sharing stories about travel and Australian life; which we miss so much. Matt and Helen arrived as guests left as friends. We are very much looking forward to our stay with them in Kiama in February.
