Our home is located within a residential area of Sorrento - just 10 mins walk to Piazza Tasso which is considered the centre of town. Here you will find a huge selection of restaurants (from Michelin Star to traditional trattorias and pizzerias) shops, coffee shops, bars etc. Evenings in Sorrento are quite vibrant and revolve around sipping an Aperol spritz in Piazza Tasso whilst watching the world go by, then heading out to dinner.

We live on the main street of Sorrento (although tucked away behind a lemon grove) and are less than 5 mins walk away from our local pub, pizzeria, trattorias, small convenience store, coffee shop, hairdresser & newsagent. 

5-6 mins walk you will find our nearest bakery, pharmacy, fresh fish shop, large supermarket, butcher, bakery, fruit shop, beauty salon etc.

We are very close to the sea and you can walk to the 'beach clubs' within in 20/25 minutes or a further 5 mins to access the public beach at Marina Grande.

Nearest airport

Naples airport is the closest to our home and there are a couple of options to get to Sorrento from there. A private car transfer is easiest but comes in around 90 euro one way. There's a very reliable bus 'Curreri' which runs fairly frequently from just outside the airport and will drop you at the train station in Sorrento - about a 10 min walk from my house. 

You can take a taxi from the airport to the ferry terminal in Beverello or the train station at Napoli Centrale but both are a bit of a pain with luggage.

Getting around

Centrally located in Sorrento. We are 10 mins from the train station with regional services to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples (where you can connect to high speed trains for Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan etc) 

The bus to the airport / Roma / Positano & Amalfi also leaves from just outside the train station. 20 minute walk to Marina Piccola where the ferries leave daily for Ischia, Capri, Naples, Amalfi and Positano (high season only for Positano & Amalfi). 30 mins walk takes you to the beautiful fishing village - Marina Grande where you can feast on the most incredible seafood and experience a traditional Italian village mostly unchanged by tourism.

This exchange was perfect right from the start. Vanessa’s great communication , awesome sense of humour , ultimate kindness & assistance with organizing transfers and a tour of the Amalfi Coast was beyond appreciated. PLU host extraordinaire! Vanessa & Gianluca’s apartment is gorgeous and words can not describe how mind boggling it was to wake up to sweeping views of Sorrento, The Bay of Naples & Mount Vesuvius. Their apartment is in the perfect location for exploring by foot, train or bus. You do not need a car. There’s plenty of amazing restaurants, shopping, sites, cafes, beach clubs a short stroll away. We loved caring for Night , their adorable cat, who has the sweetest personality ever!! Thank you Vanessa, Gianluca & Noah for making our Italy dream trip a reality. It was my first ever exchange and i could not have wished for it to be more perfect. Vanessa, you've been such a brilliant exchange partner, so easy to communicate with and provided so much help and guidance, and even went out of your way to organise the tour of the Amalfi Coast for us, which was absolutely over and above! Even though was haven't had the opportunity to meet, I now consider you my friend .... and of course you are always welcome to my new Malaga home! Where to start! Oh my goodness what a brilliant exchange! Ciara's home takes your breath away when you open that beautiful door and see how big it is!! I almost fell over (and that's before a Guinness!). So much space. so beautifully decorated and full of family love. Myself and my boys loved every moment in Dublin and this fabulous home. We've been chatting for so long now, we've become friends, we've actually had a lot of laughs planning this non-sim exchange. I'm so thankful for all the help and advice received as it enabled us to make the most of our time in Dublin. We left so full and so exhausted we needed a day to not eat and recover ha ha! Thank you for the fab welcome gifts, so kind. Much needed family time spent in a wonderful home and city. Once in a while and exchange happens that blows you away - this was one of them. Nancy, Jeff & Family were wonderful guests in my home. They are such an easy going, fun and respectful family, a joy to exchange with. Everything was just as it should be and our home was lovingly looked after, including our 2 kitties (I know they all fell in love with Henderson!). Thank you for the wine and coffee - clearly we have gotten to know each other somewhat over the last 18 months! We had really enjoyable communication (in fact I will miss our chatting) and exchange of photos, I know they had a wonderful time here in Sorrento. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Rita during the planning of this fantastic exchange. Our non-sim couldn't have gone any better and Rita was so gracious and accepting of the less that perfect bits and bobs that cropped up from a back to back exchange - such as helping me out with laundry! Rita, Chris and Liam looked after my home with respect, care and empathy, I would never have known they had even been here apart from the thoughtful pics and updates and the so perfectly chosen gifts (plus a cupboard full of coffee beans LOL). In summary, a perfect exchange, a perfect family and I really hope we get to meet next summer in Whistler - can't wait! Thank you for everything, for the friendship we have formed and for looking after Night so amazingly well. We are thrilled that we could be part of your Italian adventure. We had the most perfect exchange with Rachel at her fabulous home in San Francisco. We fell completely in love with both her place and the city! Rachel is the perfect host, kind and funny, we laughed a lot along the way whilst planning this exchange and are very similar in many ways which is just so enjoyable. She took so much time out to help me plan our time in San Fran and we would never have seen so much without her help. Our boys especially loved her place as they all got to have their own rooms and didn't have to share! My eldest 2 have fallen in love with San Fran so much they want to go and live there! Her home is modern, comfortable and oh so spacious! Location is perfect and the neighbourhood safe and friendly. Thank you Rachel for giving us this incredible opportunity, this vacation was without doubt the best we've ever had. Exchange dream come true! Jeff & Nancy were absolutely wonderful, kind and considerate hosts. Our communication was always seamless and lots of fun! I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful home, full of love and happiness (and freshly baked banana bread!). We had a ball there, spending our late evenings drinking fabulous Californian wine in the back yard while the kids played ping pong and corn hole. Our warm sunny days were filled with exploring Santa Barbara, shops, beaches, wines and amazing restaurants. We loved Santa Barbara so much that we made a family pact that when (not if!) we win the lottery we are buying a home there! Nancy was really kind and checked in with us every day to see if we needed any help with our days planning and offered some wonderful advice - all of which we followed! In summary, it was a dream, both the home and the exchange. Couldn't have been any better. Jeff & Nancy thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of sharing your home for a while. Our Californian adventure was all the richer for meeting you (albeit virtually for the moment lol). I can't wait to host you at our (much smaller!) home in Sorrento next year. We feel very exceptionally lucky that Fawn & Ferdi opened their beautiful home to us for 10 magical, fun-filled days this August. We loved every single moment. Icing on the cake is the beautiful swimming pool which we made the most of after our long days sightseeing. Super close to Disney and accessible to LA within 1 hour it was the perfect spot for us to begin our California adventure. Communication with Fawn was seamless from the beginning and continued throughout. She kindly helped me with my planning and remained in touch during our stay for which I am very grateful. I've often woken up since being back home and thought for just one second that we were back there......it's that dreamy. If you have the amazing opportunity I did - grab it. Thank you Fawn - from me and the boys. (My door is open for you anytime in Sorrento and you can even pull down my shower curtain! ha. xxx)

Communication was seamless from the beginning, we absolutely loved hosting them in Sorrento and were so happy to have had the opportunity to reciprocate the kind hospitality shown to us last Easter. We spent Christmas at Kates beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds. When I imagined the perfect location for our family Christmas together since covid and set out searching, I never thought I would find everything I wished for. Kate & Ant are the most hospitable and gracious hosts you would wish for. Nothing was too much trouble and I am forever grateful that Kate was kind enough to take in my Christmas packages to save me international delivery and extra baggage costs! We loved our stay, their cottage is so cozy and we felt relaxed and at home from the moment we arrived. We adored their cute little cat Olive and not only fell in love with her but also with the Cotswolds. So much to do from Kates place, we went to the village of Broadway (omg so gorgeous) and bought lots of locally made products to eat and drink. We visited the home of William Shakespeare in Stratford upon Avon, explored Cheltenham and had our Christmas celebrations at the Ivy. But mostly we hung around the local pub drinking English larger and eating good pub grub. Fabulous hikes in the area (but remember your wellies in the winter!). Kates kitchen is massive with a lovely double oven and big hob so we had no issues cooking a good old English Christmas lunch for the family. A wholesome, happy family Christmas with all my boys in the absolute perfect location all thanks to our lovely host. We can't thank the 'Bees' enough. Our door is always open for you in Sorrento. We feel incredibly lucky to have stayed at this amazing villa! Devon is a wonderful host and couldn't have been kinder and hospitable towards us. Their home is just dreamy, we loved every single minute. So much space! The pool was our absolute haven after a long day at the theme parks, kicking back with the twinkling lights and a glass of wine. Every single detail has been thought through in this beautiful home. Just 20 mins from Disney Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs the location is perfect. We loved our exchange with Devon and are very much looking forward to hosting her & Grant in Sorrento next year. We've just returned from a perfect exchange at Susana's gorgeous apartment in Palma de Mallorca. We never would have been able to see the island from a locals perspective without Susana's incredible knowledge and help. We honestly can't thank you enough! It's easy to get to Palma centre either walking (20 mins max), bus or taxi and there are great places to eat and shop close by. Her home is very well equipped and just spot on for a family of 4. We sat out on her lovely terrace and discussed our days and constructed the following days plans - all with Susana's kind help and assistance. Mallorca is magical and if you get the very lucky opportunity to exchange with Susana, JUMP! Grazie and we can't wait to have you come to Sorrento.

Exchanges don't get much better than this! Kim's gorgeous home in beautiful Cortona is ideally located (2 mins walk to the main piazza) yet set back down a quaint & tranquil vicoletto. You can feel the love and passion that has gone in to renovating this stunning home and we loved the true Tuscan decor. Our communication with Kim was great and she really helped us out with restaurant recommendations and cool things to do. If you are fortunate enough to be offered an exchange with Kim then JUMP at the chance. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to explore Cortona and the province of Arezzo from her adorable home. Thank you and we are looking forward to welcoming Kim to our place in Sorrento soon.
