General Overview
My home is spacious and sleeps up to 7 people (one Master bedroom, two guest rooms, each providing space for up to two people (who should like each other :-) on sofa beds and one more sofa bed in the living room for one person. However, it is more comfortable for up to 5 people…
It is settled in a big garden in a green and quiet surrounding. The next train station is 3 min by car or a 12 min walk. From this station you will be at the centre of the former Eastern part in 16 min („Alexanderplatz“) and in the centre of the former Western part in 30 min („Zoologischer Garten“).

It’ easy to get around on public transport in Berlin: next bus stop within 10 min walking distance, next train station within 15 min walking distance from my house.
Nearest airport
Airport BER is 23 km southeast of my home. It takes approx. 40 min by car and 55 min by public transport to get there.
Getting Around
Approx. 400 m to the nearest supermarket. More grocery shopping/ bakery/ drug store/ flower shop etc. close to the train station, approx. 15 min by foot or 3 min by car.

Eva's home was a great spot and so spacious, clean and well stocked for us. We were lucky to get to meet Eva and her son in person when we arrived -- I felt like I already knew her from our Zoom call. We were joined by our adult son and his family -- including a one year old -- and Eva graciously borrowed a baby crib for our use during the stay. Her home is a quick trip into Berlin by train and we enjoyed exploring the city and then coming home to relax in the evenings. We look forward to welcoming Eva to the US when she is ready to visit. Thank you again Eva for this wonderful exchange opportunity and the lovely gift! -
We had a truly wonderful stay at Eva’s home in Berlin! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and completely at ease. The house itself is charming, spacious, and full of personality—clearly loved and well cared for. But what made it especially memorable was the beautiful garden. Tucked away behind the house, Eva’s garden is like a private oasis in the city. Lush, peaceful, and full of blooming flowers, it quickly became our favorite spot to relax with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. There’s a comfortable outdoor seating area and even space for kids to play or for quiet reading under the trees. The neighborhood is quiet yet well-connected, with shops, cafés, and public transport just a short walk away. It was easy to explore Berlin from here, and we loved coming “home” to such a calm and green environment after a day in the city. Eva was a fantastic host—thoughtful, organized, and always available for questions. We truly appreciated her hospitality and the care she took in preparing her home for our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Berlin with the comfort of a real home and the rare luxury of a garden retreat! -

We had a great time at Eva’s place in Berlin. She made us feel welcome and really made everything possible to meet our needs, even very last minute schedule changes :) The house is great with a wonderful garden that the kids loved. -
Eva is a wonderful host! She helped us a lot with the information she provided about Berlin. Her house is very comfortable and located in a beautiful neighborhood! It's very close to public transportation to get to Berlin. Berlin is cosmopolitan, and it's surprising to see so many places steeped in history. Totally recommend! -
We had an amazing time at Eva’s family home! This is the home Eva grew up in and she doesn’t live there full time. Eva was so gracious. She met us when we came to make sure to answer any of our questions. She had stocked the fridge with some basic necessities and even got us a picture of Berlin! Her home was lovely- three bedrooms! A sofa in the living room and huge tvs! The nespresso machine and washing machine were an added plus. The backyard was fabulous . It was about a 15 minute walk to the train station which took you to central Berlin in 22 minutes. Thank you Eva!! Everything was Lovely! -
We had a wonderful stay in Eva’s cozy and beautiful home! It is such a nice house, garden and a quiet area but well connected to central Berlin. Communication was smooth and easy with Eva all the way and we felt very welcome :) Berlin is such a fantastic city and we were lucky to experience beautiful fall weather with sun all week! We especially enjoyed a day at Tierpark Berlin, very close to Eva’s home. Thank you for a great stay! -
We felt so cozy and happy at your house, Eva! Thank you! <3 The house has everything and person or family could need and then some. We didn't lack for a single thing. We had plenty of cozy spots and beds, plenty of towels, blankets and kitchen supplies. The washer and dryer was a huge bonus. The best part was the HUGE backyard. We spent most of our time out there. Our kids were in heaven playing and running! We had picnics and played with the water guns Eva generously shared. We ran through the sprinkler a million times! We got to pick apples right off the tree!! They were delicious! The house is in a beautiful neighborhood with some of the most beautiful gardens! We had to stop every few houses to sniff the flowers and admire the plants. We had a beautiful time skateboarding around the neighborhood. There are several grocery stores nearby. Thank you so much, Eva! -
Eva's home in Friedrichsfelde, just outside of central Berlin, is really great - especially for families. Each of my two kids had their own room. The beds were very comfortable, and the living room is spacious and perfect for relaxing after a long day. We were there in the summer, so we spent a lot of time in the yard, enjoying quiet evenings and watching the kids playing games and running through the sprinklers. From the house, it's a bit over 10 min to walk to the Sbahn, and from the station, you can get into Berlin in 30+ minutes, depending on where you're going. Berlin is huge, but we were able to get to just about every corner within an hour. Grocery stores are a short walk away. All in all, this was a great exchange and we definitely recommend it! -
Dear Eva, Thank you because your home allowed us to discover Berlin in a unique manner. From the moment we arrived, you went the extra mile to ensure our comfort. You kindly provided a travel crib and a stroller for one of our little ones, and welcomed us with a lovely gift. Your warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. Your house is super comfy, and the piano adds a special touch to the space; we even enjoyed playing it during our stay. The idyllic backyard is a highlight for us, perfect for playing water games and hosting a barbecue to celebrate Pau’s first birthday. The neighborhood is also beautiful, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being well-connected to the center of Berlin. We enjoyed exploring the surroundings and taking in all the local charm. We absolutely loved our visit in Berlin at Eva’s place. She went the extra effort to add an additional bed to accommodate our 5-person family. Lovely food and treats stocked in the kitchen, which was very much appreciated given our unexpected late night arrival where grocery stores were already closed. She showed us around the house upon our arrival and helped to keep our departure very simple. Everything was clean and it was the perfect space for our family. It’s a great location for hopping on the train to go see the sights of Berlin. Would love to come back again one day! Thanks Eva! -

I‘m Eva and in 2024, with PLU, we had 5 sim/ non-sim/ globe exchanges already. Prior to that we had 12 very successful and pleasant simultaneous home exchanges within Europe and the United States (via different exchange sites) in the pre-pandemic era. We loved all of them!
For me home exchanging is the ultimate way of going on a holiday as it always feels like a little adventure and we never really feel like tourists… I love this part of connecting to the locals and getting an impression of their daily lives!
