*uploaded some messy house pictures because I figured something is better than nothing 😬😀 And I figure those of you with kids is can relate. We have moved some furniture around I'll try to get more updated photos soon*
Here in Southern California we love to capitalize on the beautiful weather and enjoy our time outdoors. We love BBQ ing on our patio year round and hanging in the hammocks as we watch the kids play in the pool. Friday nights are fire pit Friday where lots of kids in the neighborhood come out to play in the cul-de-sac while the grown ups sit around our front yard fire pit to enjoy a drink and chat.
We Love our proximity to adventure. 25 minutes to the beach, 1.5-2 hrs to the local mountains. 4-6 hours to breathtaking backpacking in the Eastern Sierra. Smack dab between San Diego and LA.
Anaheim (medieval times, Disneyland , Great Wolf Lodge) is 10 to 15 minutes away.
We have paddle boards and an inflatable adventure kayak that are available if we're not traveling with them.
The Space
VERY kid-centric house
However, due to the unfenced pool and trampoline, it is best that kids are over 10 and strong swimmers
1 Master w queen + bathroom (This is actually my oldest son's bedroom so still very much 'kid' decor)
1 room w twin that converts to a king or put the second A mattress on the ground for a second kid.
1 room with regular twin but space for additional mattress.
There's also a den /TV room with plenty of sleeping space if you're comfortable throwing out a couple of sleeping pads.
Showers only no bathtubs
Unfenced Pool, yard (for OC 🤣) trampoline -
Kids under ten: I'm not totally opposed to it, BUT, Our house is not little kidproof. Tiny Legos everywhere... Large drum kit.... The pool is unfenced. There is a side yard with a lot of scrap wood and nails that the kids use to make forts. More of a "at your own risk/discretion situation"
Guest Access
Single story living space
Stairs leading into the house
Notes
Very big kid friendly house
TV has Netflix
Legos , video games, scooters , basketball hoop, neighborhood kids to play with ( that will probably continuously knock on the door. 😬🙈🤣)
We have a small dog-So not a good place for someone with allergy.
There are cameras on the outside of the house (front & rear) There are cameras in each of the living rooms (no audio) that can be disabled and covered (we frequently have music teachers or others 1:1 with our kids in each of those rooms cameras are for everyone's comfort).

Neighbourhood
House located at the end of the cul-de-sac. Basketball hoop in the street and fire pit out front. Very friendly neighbors.
Getting to my home
Car
Southern California is horrible in terms of public transportation and walk ability. We are fortunate to have some restaurants and grocery walking distance but that is it. No subways. There is a train that passes through Irvine and Santa Ana
Nearest airport
Closest airport is John Wayne (15 min) but we often use LAX (45 min)
Times listed are without traffic and in SoCal you usually want to plan for traffic
Getting Around
There's very little to no public transportation around here. You'll need a car or to use an Uber.

Bonus room. TV, Boardgames & LOTS of LEGOS. space to set up extra mattress the we keep hidden behind couch.
This is the 'master' bedroom that has a bathroom with in it. It is my oldest son's room so more youthful decor. Drum kit will be removed for visitors😬🙈
This is the bathroom that is inside the main bedroom
Messy living room getting used... Will post a better picture when it's clean
This bed has two mattresses and can be pulled out into a king size bed. Or you can take the second mattress and throw it on the floor.
Pool access from bonus room. If you have children you must leave it locked from the outside to improve safety.
Front entrance
Hall bathroom
Bedroom number three
For exchange I will move the drum kit out and put kid friendly activities like marble run, Legos etc on the rug in that corner.
